(misposted to roleplaying before I realized it was pretty much a dead thread)
More than 6 years have passed since that fateful day that I relinquished leadership of the Eye of Atys and set forth from Thesos to explore the strange and wondrous devices that were uncovered in our lands. It was shortly after leaving that I encountered the device that would send me to a disturbing and oddly compelling world of Norrath. I have many stories to tell of my adventures there, but that will wait for another time as will the story of how I have finally returned. There are more important matters at hand.
To me it seems like only a year has passed (some trick of the Karavan, no doubt), yet there have been many great changes to our lands. Kami and Karavan hostilities have grown. Friends and family have been slain in epic battles with the very guilds that were once our allies. Guilds have dissolved and others have sprung up to take their place. Matis and Tryker cousins now wish nothing more than to spill our blood upon the sands of our homeland. Many of the guilds that once kept order in the lands have scattered to the winds amongst the chaos. Even Eye of Atys has long since disbanded leaving a lone caretaker, Braveganzer, tending the fires in her halls.
I find myself with knowledge and skills that are out of place in this new world. Those that I left as young warriors have now grown and far surpass my own humble talents. Many have been born and even more have died in battles that werent even dreamt of in the world that I left. In many ways I am but a babe in this dangerous new place that I once called home.
But, be that as it may, these are the times that we of Fyros were born to. Our strength was once used to keep order and to guard our lands from the Kitin and later the Goo. Now we are tested again and find ourselves fighting our fellow homins for our own survival. While it saddens me greatly that it has come to this, I will not hesitate to defend our homelands even if it means spilling the blood of those that were once my friends.
I have relinquished my claim on EoA. She is the child of Braveganzer now and her honor and memory has lived on under BGs care and dedication. To those who were once members, allies and friends of the guild, I call out to you. Let guild battles be forgotten and band together once again in the defense of Fyros.
Glory to Fyros! Glory to Atys!

Welcome back, my old friend. Much has changed since you left the dirt of Thesos. The karavan threat on the desert is growing ever stronger and the Fyros need their warriors of old more than ever.
OOC: It is good to see you again! If you need a helping hand getting settled back into the desert, I would be more than happy to help out.

Re: Return of Rhaenaan
Rhae my old friend and guildmate,
I am glad to find that your path has led you back to the Burning Desert. I too have just returned to Pyr from my own long walkabout. I returned wearing only rags unfit for a yubo's bed. The ever kind and generous Guardians of the desert, Bravegandzar and Braff, clothed my old and naked body, as they have done countless times before. As a man said long ago, "how could a blade of grass thank the sun for its warmth?"
So Rhae, what path will you walk now that the Powers have incited the homins into war and conflict with each other? Are you wading into the battle that has pitted brother against brother, mother against daughter?
As for me, I tend to agree with those (Jyudas comes to mind, many others too) who have argued that the Powers may be lying to us and are leading us to self-destruction. Nevertheless, I cannot bear to watch the motherlands of our Kami bretheren being relentlessy invaded and occupied by misguided Karavanist aggressors. Hopefully the refugees now returning to the land will see the wisdom of Ma-Duk's lessons of Balance in all things.

Re: Return of Rhaenaan
Well...the eyes of all Atys owe a debt of thanks to Braveganzer and Braff. The thought of you wandering around naked after all these years....well...'nuff said
My path, as always, is not always straight and easy to discern. I have travelled with the Karavan and seen worlds beyond your wildest imaginings. Worlds with a shining wood known as iron that grows within the body of the planet itself. Worlds with mighty fortresses that dwarf the tallest trees of Verdant Heights. The Karavan walked in many forms on these worlds and traded goods and technology that appeared as magic to me. However, the one things that all of these worlds had in common was that they lacked the fire and lifeblood of Atys. They were nothing more than dead bodies with homin-like vermin fighting for the final rotting scraps of the corpse. The worlds were so long dead that the Homins no longer even understood what was lost. This is what I fear that Atys will become if we continue down the path of apathy. Whether the Karavan are the cause or just the vultures feeding off the misfortune of the sick and dying worlds, I can not trust that they have our best interests at heart.
The Kami, as well, are not all fire and brightness. Our ancients texts speak of wonderous tools and skills that have long since been lost to us. They speak of the Kitin lying peacefully beneath the earth, an integral part of the heart of Atys, consuming her waste and feeding the surface. They hint at times when the lands and people of Atys were joined as one. A time when Jena and Ma-Duk were as two sides of the same coin, watching over us as doting parents. In texts that are now mysteriously missing from the libraries of Thesos, there were even stories of Homins wielding the magic of the Kami and the technology of the Karavan. Now the Kami tell us that these magics and tools are too powerful and dangerous for the likes of Hominkind. If we truly did have such understanding in the past, we have already lost so very much.
The Kami and Karavan portray themselves as gods. Well, I tell you that we were once as these "gods". They say that we need them as caretakers, yet when has a single one raised a weapon in defense of a Homin? They hold magics and technologies that could rebuild our world in a few short generations, yet they allow Homins to die and starve while slaving to provide offerings that these creatures could easily obtain for themselves.
I am Homin and I will not allow these intruders to turn me against my fellow homins. My allegience will be to Fyros and to Atys. All Homins that share my loyalty to Atys will be welcome by my side and in my halls.
The Kami have shown their respect for Atys, though I find their motives suspect. I do not trust them, but I will align myself to them for as long as there is a threat to our world. They are welcome to fight by my side, but only on the side that holds my shield.
Finally, though few are likely to care, I have continued in the old ways; worshipping Jena and Ma-Duk as equals. Though this may make me unpopular with some, it burns as the right wood for the hearth. As such, I hold no malice or ill-will to any worshipper as long as they have the interests of Atys at heart.
As I started, my path has many twists and turns, but there is far more to discover along it than on a straight line.
Glory to Atys!
