dont worry guys, I wont let that nasty rundll get you
meshin - Rundll aint so bad to be honest, he's just one of them people who aint afraid to kick some ass every now and again and got a load of crap for it, he responded by making his stance clear in a nice sig. I would do the same but it would take a while to write down all the types of player I kill. Or maybe not
tagged - kill
kara who killed me digging in PR - kill
kara who hasnt killed me in PR - leave alone
afk and tagged - leave alone
rundll - kill with a grin
Mass Murderer or RPK?
Re: Mass Murderer or RPK?
Hey Jacko have you already lvled that 2h axe skill of yours high enough to wield Zysha's wonder axe of awesome vampiric superpower?
If so then I just can't refrain from a /tar Jackoba macro
Ooops I am a healer, darn!
And to Meshin: Mate speaking of RPK or Mass murder or whatever check the guild you are in.. Some folks there are reall experts in that. I do respect Jacko but alas he just can't control all the **** (ripped out) kind of behaviour of certain guildies. So just as Runnie said: You belong to the most notorious PvP guild on atys mate Asking the questions you are asking here looks nothing more than a farce, sorry to disppoint you.

Re: Mass Murderer or RPK?
The problem with such solutions is that you effectively provide the PvP player with what they really want (well, some of them) a fight. If you don't like PvP, why help the people doing something you don't like?simiant wrote:So if entering GvG zones to dig means you could get attacked.. why not bring backup, make an event out of it, with your guild or faction? That seems like a good way to make the danger of digging in gvg something emersive and rp'ish?
Of course that assumes there are enough people around for that sort of thing.. If there were, then it could develop into something interesting if all sides start doing things like that.. especially if you somehow could claim and hold the territory, and try to take other faction territories.. (ok ok so my time in eve online is bleeding through to here.. what can i say)

We're in spring season IG at the moment, but when it shifts to summer (I mean, actually being there shortly after the season has changed, not an hour or so later) you will see people doing just that. Summer season is the amber season in PR, or, as its more commonly known as, Zun season. You'll find large groups of people protecting a few diggers in a rather unstable truce as they fight of Vorax (unless this has all changed and its guns blazing down there now).simiant wrote:So if entering GvG zones to dig means you could get attacked.. why not bring backup, make an event out of it, with your guild or faction? Re: Mass Murderer or RPK?
As Morgaine said earlier their are valid points to both sides of the argument in relation to its implementation in Ryzom, since when has any world being perfect for everyone.
Once you have been playing for a while you get a feel for what lvl of involvement you choose to take and act accordingly, people getting killed while tagged really should'nt complain to much and in PvP areas same, but on the other side of the coin the minority of people who will kill somone digging or afk simply because they can should realise the sort of person they are likely to be labelled.
To Meshin, as far as RP goes, with a little time in the game you get a feel for how others play and fit into our community, they may not necessarily actively RP but you will know that if you see certain Names approaching or in region (a PvP region) or you are tagged you wanna hope you didnt leave any lint in the barrel and your loaded and ready to go.

Then you are the digger that the pvp'ers are trying hard to protect? hehe.. But as someone mentioned apparently this actually happens already during the zun season...

Re: Mass Murderer or RPK?
For Ryzom to succeed, it needs a market niche broad enough to attract a sufficient number of players in order to be profitable. Hopefully, it can attract even more, so as to be a major success. To achieve this, the current direction of the game development is to include both PvP and non-PvP play styles.
There is much discussion in this thread about attacking harvesters in the Prime Roots and Nexus.
My question is; How important is it for PvP to have harvesters to attack? (and possibly Trekers too) Is this a major factor, or only a minor diversion? Can PvP stand on its own without attacking harvesters?
For harvesters, getting attacked is a major concern in these zones. To be able to harvest these zones would be a major plus to game content.
So OK, they know the risk, etc. But if there were a way for harvesters to work these zones without PvP attacks, would this adversely effect PvP in a major way?
Suppose for a moment that there were 2 instances of Umbra and 2 instances of Nexus, one of each for PvP and an other of each for non-PvP.
This would keep the 2 divergent parties separated, and provide the zones game content to each. But would the PvP game be adversely effected to any large degree? Is this worth considering, or is PvP dependent on harvesters?
Im sure that there are other ways to accomplish this. But again the question is; How important is it for PvP to have harvesters to attack?
