I'd have to agree there. The game is a 24 hour a day game. Outpost attacks and defenses can happen at any time of day. It would be the same for an all US guild being declared on by someone from Europe. It isn't a flaw in the game, if anything it's a flaw in Nevrax's cost cutting (US players had their own server for those that don't know). ;)

I know a few Euro based players that regularly play until the early hours of the morning. I'm sure they would have been glad of some action at that time.

Personally, I don't start playing until 10PM and miss most of the events because they usually happen at 8PM. Do I call the game flawed because of that? No, it's my own choice to play at that time. I have to accept it. :)

Absolutely. While it can be annoying sometimes, I think it kind of adds to the "politics" or strategy aspect of OPs. :D

And yeah, I kinda was splitting hairs, but the fact remains that its is almost exclusively a small number of kami guilds who do it now; holding a faction to account for the actions of a guild that isn't even active anymore is equally picky imo. ;)

Well we are supposed to be the experts of pickiness according to some people. :D

BTW not sure which guild you're referring to....TBH not really bothered either. False declarations aren't really my bugbear since I don't get involved in PvP. I CAN see how they'd be annoying for any faction, however, and ALL false declarations are bad. I still think the cost of a declaration is too low, but that's an argument for another thread. ;)

not the proper "caravan association" anyways
You are exactly right, folks are saying "Karavan" and as I have stated before labels are misleading. Though the guild follows the Karavan, they went on their own for this attack. Some of us were asked to assist, but early in this thread I expressed my personal opinion on it. Thanks for paying attention man, the newer folks see black and white... We know all the GREY :P

You "chose" to get up @ 3 AM to defend against 4 players. Others stated the size of the attacker, it's just something to consider. As the experienced Kami/Kara guilds will tell ya... If the time is not good, plan the counterattack properly. Both sides have seen the true battles are often during that phase... You'll see a victory announcement in the forums, but the OP doesn't change hands (you rarely see THOSE announcements :P ). There was no reason to stay up, you cannot control the attack time, but you control the counter-attack time... it evens out.
philu wrote:In what way exactly is a false declaration now different from a false declaration in the past?
It wasn't a false attack... read the earlier post, the guys attacking were not a big guild/alliance.

Yeah and isn't it strange how the 'small numbers of kami guilds' are the ones complaining about how they don't get the kami support at the battles :)

Zok, for one, is unlikely to turn up at a kami attack, if several have been declared by the guild at the same time. I think that the kami frown upon the tactic just like the karavan do.

Personally, I think it "distasteful" to declare on so many at once, and do not attend those kind of declarations. I have my own moral codes that I uphold.

why is it that every time there is a thread/call to arms, about a riders OP battle it turns into an epic disscussion about the rights and wrongs of the Ryzom PvP system...
*remembers the 17 page flame fest of months passed..

*sighs*

I would just like to say again TY to all who attended... whatever time of day it was in your part of the world :D

Sorry DT but you misunderstood what I said. When Zok pointed out Karavan guilds had also done false declarations in the past, Spriteh said "Now is different to then". I was just asking how he felt there was a difference between one in the past and one now?

I wasn't inferring that the latest one was false. Sorry if it came across like that. :)

Oh no, not again.
