As far as crafting you can craft anywhere, so that is very possible, and Parties or RP there is not even a comparison. The Ring's potential for RP Far outweighs anything that could be created in a player city. Are they the same no you dont have a politician tree. As far as the set comment that is all the player city is and houses were. Sets of items that had been used over and over again in game. All you did was move the pieces where you liked them verses where a dev liked them. The only difference that I see is that this will be an instanced area instead of static. Sounds like we have some displaced politicians here.
I was one also and loved it but I cant expect another game to be exactly like one in other nor would I want it that way.
I have also read over the entire R2 site and I swear that I saw player content will be available on the ring website and will be able to be used in the scenarios. I would track it down but I am at work atm.
What i ment by set pices is they have no use, Housing has a use, storage, decorations and stores, Public buildings have use, Malls, meeting places, arenas, transportations, voteing and micromanagment of taxes ETC that support the upkeep of the town provided services, such as parks streetlamps, public stocked huntinggrounds, etc.. Things groups or communitys are made of.
SWG is not the only game to offer this type of gameplay, and im not just basing it on that.
I haven't seen any house or tent like structure in SoR that does anything... nothin, nada. They are in effect ,Set pices, or background drops if you will.
