"Attack" on the OP seems a bit strong for the turn out that happened. Think all of 4 Kara showed up. Dman earned some respect from me though. Despite the turnout he attempted to attack it anyway. Good effort!
and to the Kami, that was a wonderful turn out. Tons of people! Keep up the good work and continue to fight the good fight. We might not have the most OPs, but we can fight back with pure spirit and determination!

Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
Can anyone tell me what the point of this OP challenge was, the people challenging didnt actually arrive.
Is this some sort of Ninja technique, hopeing nobody notices the OP's are under attack.
I think the Times these OP battle happen are stupid or the times are there specifically to keep Americans in the game, as a person living in europe, and working normal office hours I could not actually afford to stay up till 3 or 4 in the morning, and I now have a greater understanding as to why the Kara have more OP's

Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
Well first of all, the tactic of declaring and not showing up (though apparently people did show up to this) is used almost exclusively by the Kami forces - please get your facts straight first - just because an attack on a karavan OP by kamists isn't announced on the public forums like almost every challenge to a kami one is, doesn't mean they don't happen. Case in point - last week we (the karavan) spent about 7 hours sitting around doing nothing at outposts because KoO attacked 3 OPs and didn't show up (the one they did show up to is beside the point)tigercha wrote:Can anyone tell me what the point of this OP challenge was, the people challenging didnt actually arrive.

Secondly, the attacker gets to choose the time of their attack, just as the defender gets to choose their time of defence. In most recent attacks on karavan OPs, the attack has been something like 9am on a sunday morning - this equates to about 3/4am for most americans.
Thirdly, despite what some people say, politics are an integral part of the outpost war - the people who do or do not show up usually do so for a reason.
This post isn't intended to blame/accuse anyone of anything, just that I don't take kindly to being falsely accused of things
Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
if you bother to read some posts, then you see that 4 (or so) did appear and attackers were theretigercha wrote:Can anyone tell me what the point of this OP challenge was, the people challenging didnt actually arrive
that's nothing to do with time. most kami side just dont give a .. when it's not theirs outpost and that kara side has better communication. simple..... I now have a greater understanding as to why the Kara have more OP's
Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
That is why OP battles are a 2 step process, the defence phase is picked by the defenders for a time suitable to them and their allies, and only comes into play if the attack is successful.
edit bleh..too slow on reply (oh i was one of 4 too hehe)

Actually it's neither.
Kami side has less players, and a smaller proportion of them are big PvP fans.
The awkward times are just an annoying issue for both sides I am sure.
On the few occasions of roughly equal numbers showing up, honestly its gone either way. And since the Karavan has a larger active PvP population, makes you ask if "communication" really is better there since these occasions happen?

Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
The time factor does increase the numerical advantage in the battles which is already swayed, for whatever reason, in favour of the Karavan side during US hours. It just increases the already existing problem.

I couldn't attend the battle because I have been away on bussiness in london.. should be back later tonight.
despite the apparent lack of ferosity of the assault..
Thankyou so much to all the kami and others who showed up to support us.
Myself and the Riders are ready to do the same for all of you.

Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
Putting aside all issues of the time or nature of the attack, which are in the first instance unavoidable due to the global nature of this game, and in the latter ...well frankly, yes stupid and time-wasting, I would like to thank all those who did turn up to support the Riders at such short notice, whether at my request or at that of our KoO friends. Thank you all *throws rice*
Dman is (so I'm told) just a kid, and is allowed to play the game as he wishes (within the EULA) just as anyone else. I assume he is American, which explains and fully justifies (to me) the time of the attack. However attacks which have had no thought to support are a waste of everybody's time. Respect to Dman (as Morgaine has already said) for actually showing, rather than just declaring a joke attack to wind ppl up. However, I would rather not have had to announce a call to arms to satisfy the pvp whims of one small boy. This is not intended as a challenge to Dman or to be inflamatory to the Karavan in general, just to point out that we all have other things to do with our time than stand around waiting for the timer to run out and I think those involved in the VVV defence last week would agree.
This is merely my own opinion, btw and is in no way intended to represent the thoughts or beliefs of my Guild.
Thanks again to all who showed (including Dman)
