New player saying hi

Post by moxon »

Greetings!New player from norway here!Anyone else from up north?

Just started the trial of this game today, and im both impressed and confused.

1. The skillpoint system. How many skillpoints do i get each lvl ? And where should i spend them in the start? I think i had like 80 points in fighting, and i have no clue on what i should spend them on, so i spent them on selfheal and some in metabolism. I guess there is no way of reverting skillpoint in the game?Apart from rerolling ofc!

2. Race choice, does that matter when it comes to wheter i wanna use magic or melee? Also, which style is best for a new player ? magic or melee. ive tried some melee, and it feels kinda static, like you just lock on and hit your attack button.

3. The world. Still on the newbie island, and its really well done, and its pretty big too. What about the mainland, is the world big and worth exploring ?

Thats my noob questions so far, hope someone got time to answer them. Sorry if this has been asked before, i couldnt really find anything specific about it!

Welcome to Atys!

1. You`l get 10 skill points (or sp) per level, the tutorial givers on the newbie island will start to teach you what to buy very soon, but yes, self heal hp and metabolism are definate must haves at the start, dont worry too much about going wrong, just get a couple more sp if you think you want to buy a new skill :)

2. No melee/magic advantages whatever race you decide to choose, every skill can be learnt by anyone, its an open classless game. Melee can be static, from level 50 upwards alot more options become available, ie circular attacks (attacking multiple mobs), "aim at" options, fainting, opening and attack after parry/dodge, and auras like warcry and bezerk. Creating your own attacks is very effective and gives you more control over the fight.

3. Mainland is about 30 times bigger than the island, plenty to explore, many sights of interest and dozens of different mobs to see. :)

Have fun !

*hugs* Welcome to Atys :)

1. Like the guy with big glasses said, no need to reroll - there's no point. Nothing is a must have, really, pick what you fancy and work around your difficulties; it will all work itself out as you grow.

2. No. Don't choose elemental magic, that's the easy, dull way :p (no bias at all)

3. Exploring is probably the best bit :) Be careful about taking anyone with elemental magic over level 60 with you though (I am level 59 :D )

Lower levels = most fun, enjoy :)

1. I'd suggest Constitution as something you should definitely invest SP in. Constitution determines how much HP you have - each Constitution upgrade adds 50 HP. Also, don't spend Craft SP on anything other than crafting actions, plans, and maybe boosts.

2. Part of the fun/variety of melee lies in customizing your attacks, I think. You'll learn about actions and stanzas pretty soon. :) Anyway, just do whatever skill(s) you enjoy.

3. The mainland is pretty big. Soo many interesting and beautiful locales to be discovered and explored. I still haven't seen it all.

Welcome. :D

Hi, welcome :)

all answered already i think, exploring is one of the best bits. try not to get 'powerexplored' too much.. go with people your own level and keep it challenging/suicidal ;)

[QUOTE=moxon]Greetings!New player from norway here!Anyone else from up north?

Greetings, I was born in Norway but moved to Sweden a long time ago hehe.

And as the others told you, go ahead and do what you enjoy. It's hard to avoid meddling with all the main skill branches as time goes by haha.
Even those who said they never will harvest, end up doing it ;)
