trial account to full account with cdkey?

im trying to figure out if and how i can turn my trial account into a full account by buying the box and using its cdkey.

i click edit account and login and am presented with:

***Your account is currently a Free Trial account. To continue your adventures in Ryzom beyond the Ruins of Silan, you have to sign-up. The next page will display the rates and subscription options, and will allow you to pay online.***

which just gives me the option to upgrade by paying a subscription, however, i dug out my old trial account, one that i played in january, logged in "edit account" with that, and am given the option that i want:

***If you've bought a boxed version of the game, you can keep your current account by entering its serial number here.
Your account will become a full account and you will be credited with any free time that your box gives you a right to (for example 1 month)***

why am i given this option for my old trial account, but not my new RoS trial one? if i buy the box, is there any way to upgrade my RoS account with it so i can keep my character?

You don't need a box or CD key.

Indeed, you do not need a cd key. Just pay the first month's subscription to take your character to the mainland.

I don't see how it matters...you have to pay $15 per month, and you don't have to pay any initial fee, either way. I don't see what activating with a CD key would accomplish. All you do is enter payment info.

I think it's a valid point, unfortunately I odn't know how to get it to work.

My guess is its been disabled. The free month that comes with the box is the "old" trial offer, while the unlimited Ruins of Silan is the "new" one. Spending some time on the island and then getting a discounted month on the mainland is esssentialy getting two trials.

To enter a cd key, you need to click on regualar account at the beginning of the account creation process.

Just make a new regular account and it will let you input your key.

CD keys are not compatable with the unlimited free trial offer.

just dont see the point in spending £8.99 when i could spend £1.99 instead. daddy doesnt pay my subs.
