Hmm, well i have been a gamer most of my life and have come across games that have entranced me for 10-20 straight hours refusing to yield until i complete them. I understand the meaning of addictive, but it has only lasted till i finished the game. Ryzom is my first MMORPG( i am however an rpg veteran) and ,well, ive never experienced this feeling before. 3 days it has been since i last breathed the air of atys, and i am suffocating... its torture.
Is this normal ? are MMORPGs THAT addictive? or should i seek help from some good old single player and non rpg online therapeutic gaming?
been a while old friend.... *pats the dusty BFG*
Anyone else feel it ?

Yes. (without any sarcastical or ironic undertones, btw)

Re: Anyone else feel it ?
I have problems with single player games... Morrowind for example, just couldnt get myself to play it seriously because I knew there would be no way to play with other people. While NWN didnt bother me even in solo because I knew it was open to multiplayer. Playing alone is just... boring. I always tend to wonder how I'd be doing with others, just to share the experience. Playing solo is close to claustrophobia.

oh btw, plz ,plz, never refer to morrowind in a negative manner, it is the most perfect and absorbing rpg to date(700 days here ) (deus ex comes in a close 2nd). .... wow i just realised something... maybe i should seek sanctuary from the single player world , in the mmorpg world...

I loved daggerfall, I hate morrowind... sorry eh. Graphics are ugly in my opinion, gameplay isnt too great,... that's the kind of game you just hate or love. Nothing in between.

Deus Ex 1... the 2 is crap (too short, too linear). System Shock was cool too...

Nope. Sometimes i find myself looking at the Ryzoms.exe icon on my desktop thinking.. is it really worth it. I feel my shoulders sag as i think, well thats level 80, now i need 45 more levels..ah well, maybe i can sell the mats..i drag myself into the game.
I get an altogether different feeling playing any other game. Except for Wow and Eq2, when it leave thinking thank goodness i dont play that much.

okay.. I wont insult Morrowind, if you promise to not refer to Deus Ex as an RPG.

Deus ex 1 was not pure rpg, it was a , well perfect blend of all but strategy
2 was hammered lines of haphazardously coded crap, compared to 1 that is.
Morrowind is one of those extreme games , u love it , or u hate it, just like ryzom, only it is graphically superior to ryzom .to each his own i say .
System shock was amazing as well.
Maggers, i will return today wearing shorts. yes, shorts. Phear the shorts
