Am I the only one who would feel safer if those things wouldn't be able to go into melee, at least not per default action?
Each time I move among big mobs (Kipees, for example) to quarter something I killed I am afraid that I accidently click onto the big hot zone of one of the mobs instead on the dead one, don't realize this, click again and find myself in melee with a weapon which does around 1/4 the damage of a normal melee weapon while wearing light armor and standing in the middle of several social mobs.
One may be able to use the mage staff melee attack sucessfully as last resort at the lvl 1-20, but past them this this tactic is rarely sucessful. I would say around 10 people die because of accidental melee attacks for every 1 who get saved by getting into melee intentionally.

Right click on the carcass and choose quarter if you are in areas where the mobs are too close for your comfort, that way you cannot start an attack by missclicking

Actually, beat you to that one...was playing with a scary gingo and scary jarving and wondering why they were just destroying me. May have had something to do with the fact I was trying to box them.
Re: Magic staffs/gloves & Melee
Do what i do , destroy anything that moves within a 200 m radius, just to be safe and then quarter the carcass. If u wish to quarter a carcass that u killed in the 200 m cleansing process, u gonna have to clear the next 200 m m8.
