Let me throw a special honorific mention to my ig-mate Sinful , who unfortunately quit half a year ago for several reasons . My otherwise notable levels would be put to shame by his , (as a guideline, I roughly guesstimate that he had the levels I have now by the time he quit). I'm confident that, had he kept playing, you would have a clear winner
I just thought of this insane powerleveler while reading the thread...
I was never about levels and in case you were worried DT, I came back for a holiday and will be gone again soon. Ryzom WAS in my opinion, about building things.
For those who want to know, as always you will have to work for it, here is the numbers behind the Tryker....
I Hope that someone will carry on the Lore about Elias Tryton and hope one day that the 'Real original story' is revealed about Atys and not the 'Us vs Them' faction smokescreen. (The dragon, origin of Hominkind, Jena, Kavaran, Kami et al.)
I will always have mixed feelings about Ryzom, it frustrated the hell out of me with lack of developement and sharp story changes. However the game helped me escape reality when I need to most. It also allowed me to make some good friends and most importantly, introduced me to my very special girlfriend who with a smile and warm heart lead me out of depression back to the real world and all its wonders.
Atys is like a pond, take out your hand and there might be ripples for awhile, but soon carm waters will return. The water has no memory of the hand only those that witness the event will know for sure what happened.
Those who remain, you are what makes SoR a living world, with lasting changes and REAL effects on the world. Atys tomorrow will not be the same as Atys today.

Even though I see and respect your point, I can't help noticing how contradictory the above statements sound...
Edit. Oh, and on topic, I don't have so many levels.

Caluculating total number of levels gets to be a real pain as the trees all tend to take a different path. This often results in many counting a level twice. For example, those that leveled both axe and 2hand sword tend to count the first 150 levels twice, but the tree don't split into axe/sword until 150. They just say "both at 250, so thats 500 levels". Same with the dig trees and that first 50.
Personally, I'm not all tha concerned with my total levels. Certainly not concerned enough to go and get an accurate number of total levels earned. All I know is its a lot. Perhaps not as much as say PeteJ or Anissa, but certainly a pretty big number. For my masters titles, they're in the sig. I'm also within 15 levels of 7 more. Before my absence from Atys, I was aiming for Master of Magic (all magic trees mastered), Master of 2hand combat (master of all the 2hand melee trees) and Master Heavy Armorer (not the title, but all trees at 250), so you can imagine the number of levels in there alone, not to mention the digging levels that would be needed to get the HA done (more than two lands to master). As it stands now, I have at least one skill to 250 in each of the main types of skills (melee, magic, craft, harvest).
But now that the horn tooting is out of the way, I've known people that have played for years and have still to get a single Master title. The levels don't mean anything if you're not having fun since thats the whole reason for us playing this game. Don't feel like you have to master everything instantly as, 1) its not possible to do and 2) you'll burn out pretty quick. Run around, trek, level as you please... the levels come with time and it makes the journey there all the more pleasant

This thread is interesting reading for a newbie still on the starter island.
What I like is how hard it is to characterize "what level is my character?" in this game. It's complex, not simple, and that makes it interesting.
I also suspect I'll never be very high in any one thing, because I like doing a little of everything. So for instance, right now, my character is 43 melee, 30-somthing in all the various craftings, 35 or so Forage, and high 20s in the 2 magic skills. I spread out my adventuring... For instance last night I mostly did fighting and gained some melee levels (and finished some of the last quests on the island -- just one left to go now). The day before was "harvesting/crafting" day. I just harvest stuff until my pack is full, then go back to town and start crafting and sell off what I craft (or keep it if I like it and it's better than what I have).
It's the variety that makes this game fun I think... but will also prevent me from gaining high levels in any one thing quickly. But that's OK... I care about having fun, not levelling.
But people with 10 or 12 skills at 250th level.. that is just scary, that is.
I'm confident I have the most combat Master's/Level's. But asside from my masters in sig., off the top of my head I can count.
Launcher Craft at 198
Daggers at 235
Rifle at 185
5 LA trees at 161
all Jewel trees at 101
That's all I can think of, I'm not logged in at the moment.
I'd like to be the first Master of all Combat skills( my definition being anything that you could use in combat), AND I will be the first Master all 2h and 1h Melee, as a certain Mr. Alibooma has put up some nice armour for that feit.
