I'm trying to play the 7-day trial, but I get stuck at "CONNECTING...". The longest time has been about 20 minutes before I gave up. I'm open to the possiblity that this game just has laughable hardware that takes a long time to connect to, but I'd like to know for sure. What is the maximum duration that I can see that message before I know that something is deeply wrong? Thanks in advance.
P.S. My connection is fine. I have EVE Online installed on the same machine, and I can start it up and play it right away with no problems.
"connecting..." max duration?
Re: "connecting..." max duration?

Nice attitude bud. And then you expect us to help you when you make comments like these? Each game is unique in it's networking. Some work well for all, others require a little bit of tweaking to get to work.
As Rushin suggested, you may want to check out the Networking FAQ and perhaps the LinkSys FAQand see how to open the game port (UDP 47851)

I also am having the same problem. I will check out the link, however you speak about his attitude being bad. What about yours?
Zerlin, as a Game Master you should never say anything negitive to a potential paying customer. I too want to try this game before I waste any money on it. So far I am not impressed with any of it the game or the GM. I play many online games and have never had to do anything different to connect to them except change video drivers. I do not like the idea of having to open ports or turn off my anti-virus scanners to play a game. That can leave my system open for disaster.

so if you walked into a shop and explained to the person working there you thought what they sold was crap, and that they were useless would you expect them to bend over backwards to help you? that is exactly your attitude, if i was the person working in the shop i'd laugh and go find someone else to help.. respect is a two way thing you know, people dont deserve it for no reason.
and no, i dont work in a shop.. probably a good thing
