Newb Island quests question

Post by griff133 »

I am unable to access the quests at the Kami camp, and from the main guy with an axe that introduces you to the island.

I'm around level 20-22 in all 4 lines, have done almost all of the quests from the 4 main trainers.

I was wondering if there was something I missed, or if I haven't met some prerequisites yet.

Another unrelated question about crafting. Is it better to specialize right off the bat, or get all of them, then specialize a little later? I'm running into a problem where my bag is getting filled up with mats I cannot use in armor or jewelcrafting. Should I pick up weaponcrafting to use these up rather than sell them?

Thanks

if you right click on the greyed out quests it tells you the requirements :)

specialising is always good but dont be scared to sell some of the junk you have ended up with.. aim to have saved 100k by the time you leave the island then you can buy a packer straight away and ease the storage issues for a time.

I agree. Pick one craft to focus on, and sell the mats you can't use; it is a good way to save up for that mektoub when you get to the mainland :)

As someone already said, right clicking on the mission will give you an info box with the prerequisites. All of Chiang's missions except hte very first one require that you have finished ALL the missions from a particular training mission giver.

if you can.. craft nothing but boots until crafting splits.. then get one craft on a different tree.. and only craft the default item from it..
sell all mats which arent useful to you..

thus the powercrafter is begun.

jewelry and shields are simple to craft, requiring only 2 types of mats, which makes digging for them easier, but leaves a lot of excess from hunting.

the alternative is to try to be a useful crafter, and make the stuff people will need - but once you get off the newbland there will be skilled crafters aplenty who are happy to make stuff for new arrivals, so your window of opportunity is very limited

Hello Gryf

I think almost all is not enough, if I remember right you have to finish atleast one complete set of missions on fight, magic, craft or harvest, before you can do the kami/karavan missions or the missions by Chiang the Strong.

Good luck
