New guy has a quest problem

The problem is that I can't find what I need to complete it.

Since there isn't a quest section on this board, I'll just ask here since this is my first day playing.

Harvesting #3. Where you have to look for Fine Sarena Seeds, Fine Motega Wood, etc.

I've found the seeds. I cannot find the wood or the amber. Do they spawn in the same place as the seeds (ie, northeast of the camp), or do they spawn in other places? I've found all 5 Sarena Seeds. No wood, no amber.

Hello Ichtys, welcome to Atys

To answer your question, all mats can be find in that area north east of the camp. You may walk around and prospect at several spots there. It will help if you use prospecting range 1 (5m).

It can take a fair bit of searching to find those. They are in the same general area tho.

I guess the purpose of that quest is to demonstrate how different sources might be in the same general area and give the new player some idea on how to go about systematically working an area. Well, if that's not the purpose, it's what I learned anyway.

Dont forget to try different elevations (slopes, rises, etc.). Other spots to not forget are, like, between trees, rocky lookin spots or tall grass areas. None of those are actual indicators of resource types...well, the trees can be sometimes... but I find it helps me to break an area up into various "terrain type" chuncks and then work each one more systematically.

If you right click on your compass and select mission there is a way point to the area you need to be in All the mats are within about a 40m radius of the spot it takes you to.

I had the same problem on this quest, specifically with the amber. Took me about 2 hours to find all of it. I ended up using prospecting at 10m, 20 degrees, 2 at a time. That found it fairly quickly. The amber was towards the north-east area of the circle they have you digging in.

I didn't have much trouble with the seeds. Just keep trying different areas I guess. Good luck. I know how frustrating it is, but when you do finally find all of it, it's a good feeling.

Yup, that mission was a pain. Prospecting and Harvesting is ALOT more fun in the mainland and it becomes easier too when you learn different plans so you can target resource types you need for Armor and such.

Once you get the hang of this, its the best crafting/harvesting system in any MMO
