Connection error1

what does this mean and why wont it let me connect to the game world? i enter my login information and i get this repeatedly, it shouldnt be a failure to connect to the internet since all my other web-based programs still run perfectly.

In this same forum is a sticky list of the launcher codesand what they mean. Here's what it says about Error Code 1:

Error Code 1 - no connection to the login server
- check firewall settings and ensure the game ports are allowed through
- can also happen when there are network problems along the path, so check local network and try doing a ping plot or tracert to 213.208.119.98

hmmm, i have checked the firewall, evn disabled it for a while, still i get the same message; is it because i'm working from behind my campus proxy???

Most likely. You will have to pass along the ports information to the admins. (Found in your original welcome email and the Networking FAQ)
