Re: dont feel like logging in
did horizons allow for respeccing after a nerf? when the changes in the magic system go online the players will get at least a partial skill respec, so there shouldn't be many problems with that

the system didn't work in a way where respecing would help much beyond potentially raising the exp earned per kill.

I have rerolled my character 6 times so far whenever I felt I had made too many bad skill choices.
I dont mind doing that because I dont want to waste my time on a character that has not started well.
Now if everyone who has made lots of bad choices and just kept going gets to reroll their choices - doh.
It takes all the challenge out of it for me - hence I dont feel like logging in.
I have a funny feeling that its not just me but lots of others too.
The fact alone you "reroll" tells me that you don't like a challenge in the first place. Number 1, you never need to reroll. Number 2, if you have any idea about this game at all, you would know that. Honestly, rerolling your character takes time. If that time was spent in the "bad choices" you had made, you would eventually have the skill points to make the "right choices" AND you would have a higher level character
Besides, there's no challenge in playing a "perfect" character all the time anyways. You just said it's no fun without a challenge.

If you solo most of the time then the choice you make very much affect how hard it is to solo.
If you group most of the time then I guess your bad choices get covered a bit by the rest of the group.
To say I dont like a challenge is kinda funny for me to read - you couldnt be further from the truth
Changing rules makes planning near on impossible and I like planning.
btw - all the other chars went to 55-60 in quite a few skill groups - I dont muck around
I guess you completely misread my post then, no?
I said your "bad choices" WILL eventually be recoverable by your SKILL POINTS which you *CAN* regain without rerolling -_-
And it is true. If you want to waste your time - or quit (thereby wasting your money AND your time) rerolling and complaining, then so be it. I'm just telling you that this time you are not right about a games skill system. I am telling you that there are NO unrecoverable "bad choices".

Re: dont feel like logging in
I think this game has a slew of problems/issues, but I think you are on the moon if you think you ever need to start a new character in this game. The whole point of the flexible skill system is that you can be whatever you want to be ... and you can change your mind (or do whatever you feel like doing at the moment). All you need is a few skill points to devote to a new skill you feel like pursuing.
The changing rules and such are an annoyance, but even the best MMORPGs generally need some rebalancing after lauch. Moreover, even the most mature MMORPPGs tend to need periodic rebalancing after expansion packs and such.
Don't get me wrong, I think Nevrax partially screwed the pooch by releasing this game 2 or 3 months before it was ready. That is painfully obvious. But the tremendous potential of this game is also readily apparent. I just want to say that I think you are completely mistaken if you think a sub-optimal skill choice or two will require you to reroll a character.

Re: dont feel like logging in
not much point leveing this message either

I guess you are hammering me for rerolling but from my perspective I have done the right thing especially since the higher end of the game seems to be a bit dead atm.
I am not knocking the game btw so much as just expressing the way I feel atm.
Pity you had to be so harsh - doesnt really help.
I'm not really being harsh. I'm being honest. You are expressing your opinion which is fine, the problem is that it is an uneducated opinion.
There is never a need to reroll in this game. As I've stated twice, you can recover ANY and ALL "bad choices" by merely playing the game. The total time it takes you to recover a bad choice is far less than the total time necessary to reroll the "right way."
Please, I beg of you: LEARN. This game is not what you apparantly think it is. If you, as I've said, had any clue - you would know better than to say what you have regarding skills.
