Story line. Is there one?

Post by yoshi21 »

I know this game has plenty of lore, but onc ei make it to the mainland is there actually a story I can follow? Like do I learn more about the karavan or the kami and discover in an incredible twist that one is evil, or both are evil, or that the homins are actually the problem or something?

Like is there a true story i can discover as I go.

The story is still unfolding, but most any Zorai can tell you the Karavan are evil.

The interesting thing about the factions, IMO, is that neither is evil or good. It's not simply a matter of Good vs. Evil - it's a matter of opposing idealogies, and it's up to your character to decide which is right and which is wrong. :) Plus, there is Elias Tryton, and many forms of neutrality.

Well that's all true Kat, except for the little part about the karavan being an infamous band of traveling con artists that have the MO of setting up shop on some out of the way, back water planet and bilk the most easily duped portion of that planets population into treating them like some kind of "gods" and giving up stuff to them in an effort to get some of the "gods" goodies, like ray guns and such.

So, other than that the karavan are a ruthless, lazy bunch of wandering thieves then you hit dead on :)

About storyline tho. This game tends to run a bit more like rl in that respect. I dont mean real rl but rl as it would be in such a setting as this game.

The storyline does develop occasionally via large events such as kitin invasions and such but mostly it is advanced by the interactions of the persons and groups of persons inhabiting the planet.

Will there be war between competeing factions? or will the greater portion of the population find "the middle way" of myth and legend?

Will the needs of competing groups lead to confrontation over scarce resources? or will some heavy and oppressive organization be developed to enforce some kind of "share" system?

Much of the above is actually determined by the will of the players involved.
