Can select Character ,but cant log in??

Hi, I'm trying the free trial. I played the game last night after DL it and patching. I made a toon and logged in no problem. It was late so I logged out for the night. I tried to log in today. I can select my character ,but can't get past the loading screen, it gets hung up on the last bar.
My firewall is configured properly.
Any ideas what this is?
I would really like to determine if i want to play this game some more.

I've had that problem before and I think it was cured by running the ryzom_recover application in the Ryzom folder 5 times in succession. If you're on dialup then this will likely take an absolute age since it involves downloading and verifying all the data files each time, or something like that. Took me about 40 minutes on broadband. Your best bet is to log in to Klients and ask for help there.

Edit: On the login screen where you type in your password, look down the menu to the bottom item - "Check Data". Try that first
