White blinking squares on land

Post by sparkyd »

Hello everyone..

I'm doing the new trial thing, and I logged on last night for the first time. When I got to the Newbie isle -- all of the graphics looked great except for the ground...

There were white squares all over the ground that would blink off and on randomly.

I'm using a P4 3.02 , 2 gigs of ram, and a ATI 9700 pro 128mb video card ( latest drivers installed )

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

White blinking squares usually indicate a driver problem. Did you install them correctly? i.e. removed the older ones, rebooted, ignored the 'found hardware' messages and then installed the current drivers?

Also make sure to set windows display adapter performance for D3D to be 'application preference' and don't force antialiasing or aniostropic filtering.

Yes -- everything has been installed correctly...

What's strange is that Ryzom is the only game that I own doing this..

CoV, GW, EVE, Battlefront, etc... none of them are doing this...

Do I need to change something in the video settings for SoR?

I'll have to check the windows display for D3D when I get home from work..
