Strange Bug ?

I was part of the team that took part in the expidition to Tryker yesterday. Now, along that journey I was killed and my hp read 16734 (or thereabouts)/500. Two good mages in the party were unable to heal me back to life.


Has this happened to anyone else ? Or is there another reason ?

We on the North American server call this:

"THE STUPID CORPSE BUG"

It happens when you die from Aoe damage from a mob. I am also lead to understand if you receive too much damage when a creature strikes you, this will also come into effect, but don't quote me on that.

We've had people quit over the fact that GM's will not teleport you back to a spot where you have been corpsicled by this bug. The GMs admit that it is a known bug, (one of the MANY known bugs) and the devs are currently working on it. However, the gms are too scared to do anything practical about it.

Best way to fight this bug is to wear that good armor you know is going to degenerate in five seconds, and ALSO to raise your hps as high as possible. In addition, concentrating on fight skills will generally help you a lot in the long run.

Otherwise there's nothing you can do. Guilds need to take this bug into account when raiding and let their people know that it may happen and that if it does, they (whoever died) may have to wait until the following raid to try again.

Note: You could also whine and ***** and quit the game. It's a free world, sort of...

The problem is that there isn't any way for the gm to know if where it was you died for sure, you could be tricking him to get a fast trip to your friends. What if it was up to the gms to decide who spoke the truth and who diddn't, and one of the gms like one person more than another? Sometimes there is a need for standard set of rules that the gms all follow as it is now.

Yep. Old bug still here. Aoe from goari can do this, sometimes DD from mobs waaaayyy over your level can do this.

Cheers for the info everyone. The mob that killed me must have pretty much aced me, it was one of those big smelly cuttler things. Oh well, just hope it's fixed before it happens to too many other people.

Ah oh.. cuttler...eh..hmm... that could be a reason as well. Something someone can check. mob specific... cuttler.. dont like it one but nasty thing. Never killed me tho..never got close enough!!

I wish people would stop calling the GMs stupid or scared. They are doing a very good job imo.
