Would like a list of the best resources commonly needed
Would like a list of the best resources commonly needed
If anyone can get a list made of the "best" resources or most popular it would help a lot of people.
Re: Would like a list of the best resources commonly needed
Hi!
The "best" resources is a very individual thing , it'll always depend on what you or the crafter are trying to achieve (max dmg, protection, dodge factor,...). Therefor, there won't be a short list of the best mat.
There will, however, be loads of mat databases. I'm working at one currently and, while it's not finished yet, will be posting it on The Merchants Of Ryzom when it's done at least basically. There is a graphical database of some mats used to craft several things already, you might just take a look: Merchants Of Ryzom (directlink).
There are also two other mat DBs on the net I know of currently: at Melinoe (Members only, I think) and at Die Fremen .
You could, of course, just ask an experienced harvester ingame as well...
Hope that helped a little...

XoloX is right on the money, the most important may may change day to day based on what your crafters want. The "best" resources of that type are relative to the type of gear your going to make.
With storage so limited, even with packers, a guild hall and an apartment I can still only keep slightly ahead of what folks need. Stockpiling is nearly impossible.

Re: Would like a list of the best resources commonly needed
in newbie lands I had a SHORT list of what I used. I found ONE dropped material that I added to light armor to boost the protection rating, since the rest of that stuff doesn't affect under 50s, I NEVER bothered with it.
LIGHT armor list
DZAO FIBER
KOORIN OIL
GLUE RESIN (moon would also work well if you wanted a different color)
and the not so secret ingredient
FINE GINGO LIGAMENT Q20 (the protection rating on this is OFF the chart, and raised my ALL choice boots from 8.5% which was good, to 11% which was better and enough to put on a color I wasn't impressed with, which is the muddy red)
(pardon the caps, just trying to make it more legible, I tend to ramble...my bad)
Magic Amp list
There is a FLAMING debate in Fyros newb territory on this one
SOME insist that damage is the ONLY thing and demand Caprini eyes(which ONLY drop in newb areas at a MAX of Q19, which means THIS amp will be ONLY Q19)
BUT...I prefer insane SPEED, the damage averages out to the same, but speed...you get interrupted less and so...DIE less (personally a MAJOR plus). And I doubt ANYONE could debate faster heals helping better than slow. I haven't timed out the healing per second with healing power versus the healing SPEED, but...I suspect it is another potaetoe potahtoe (phoentical spelling here) issue. try both, use the one you like better.
SO
you either want 10 caprini eyeballs *shudders*
OR Sha amber for elem speed
OR Hash amber for healing speed (the healer stick I made he almost never landed, and cast fast enough he interrupted his cast animation, to call it a significant speed boost would be an understatement)
I make my weapons with OATH bark, so I used it for the amp, but I hear the Mitexi is a BIT faster on cast speed (Haven't made it, but this friend has proven himself more than a little trustworthy over the last few weeks, and more than a little helpful...so...I trust him)
and Buo fiber (also what I use for grips on weapons, feel free to use a different fiber, I used Dzao fiber on the one I use, NO speed slow down on casting, and I had just made a FULL suit of light armor and an amp, so if I had to run another KM I was going to BARF)
My list is in a CLEAN format
Sha or Hash amber (elem/healing prospectively)
Oath or Mitexi bark
Dzao or Buo fiber
I have only made ONE heavy vest so I have NO info on that
I have NOT made guns or ammo (except first week after release, at THAT time it was a crap shoot on outcome. I made Q20 ammo/pistol with ALL choice mats with BEST stats, the outcome, just going by the mat stats SHOULD have been INSANE speed, range AND damage. What I got I wouldn't make a Yubo use.
Then I made a pistol and ammo with junk I quartered, Q15 BASIC off of various mobs. Guess what. HUGE range and 65 damage and a FULL clip of 21 I think it was. I was disappointed to say the least.
I tested this "crap shoot" theory by buying enough to make 20 guns and 20 clips of ammo from the store (KNOWN for not necessarily being the BEST materials available) and got 20 pistols and 20 clips, ALL with different stats. It was PURE random. (I was a Tryker UNDER level 25 range wep crafter, could THAT have been why?? *shrug* maybe maybe not)
I hear that this range thing is now fixed. Might have to try that test again and check it.
I hear that ANY material that will FIT into the form for jewelery...of the right Q is good enough. AKA BASIC grade Q50 mats will make JUST as good a Diadem as choice grade Q50 foraged, from what I hear. This MIGHT change in another patch, or MIGHT not work with over Q50 mats.
***editted after posting to add info***
this is NOT taking into account dodge, parry and other stats on gear, I have NOT made Q50 gear, which is when ALL this starts to even matter. Before Q50, the dodge parry etc do NOT affect the players nor do they even go ON the item.
After Q50, you need to know ALL resources and stats and locations it would appear. I will likely go with as high a dodge or parry as I can get AND as high a protection I can get. For others I will ask what they want and craft accordingly.

How do I get those links in ENGLISH? I took about three WEEKS of German. I can count to ten, say please and thank you and you are welcome...not much more.
