What I wanted at the very first moment... I do not know :)
I however do know that shortly after I joined AtysGhosts I wanted to be come a weapon crafter. I wanted that fancy waving sword crafting plan :) damn figuring out it was 100 sp instead of 50 like other HQ plans!

Nowadays I just craft whatever I want or I hunt everything down I see ;) (except for bodocs)

I wanted to be a master amp crafter :D

I got bored tho, then wanted to be a melee master
I got bored again, then wanted to be a celestial guardian
guess what, I got bored again, then wanted to be an avatar of destruction

now I want to be a PR master, but keep getting distracted by more "interesting" things

one day I might finish a few levels off

I set out to be a bit of a jack of all trades. Doing melee, magic and crafting. Didn't plan to do any digging because I had a partner who would dig for me, he didn't want to craft.

Over time his dig got higher than my craft and I started some other craft branches (mainly for extra SP). I figured using q150+ mats for q50 items a waste so I started to dig a bit. Over time I got hooked on digging too, to the point that I spent most of my time digging for a while.

Now I guess I'm a bit of a healer/digger, who also dabbles in sword and HA making in my spare time; with the odd bout of melee and elem thrown in for good measure. :)

So I'd say that, skills wise, yes my goals have changed a little over the last 2 years; mainly the addition of digging. Back when I started my main skils were melee and elem but now it's healing, I became a healer over time.

I started out with a few goals.

-Master Forest Forager
-Mind Lord
-Master Medium Armorer

Well, master forest is 45 levels away, but I've put forest on hiatus while I lvl PR up to where I can dig mats for my armor crafting. I'm probably gonna hit Master PR before forest as well. Long term planning tho :p

Mind Lord... I'm half there. My def aff used to be my highest combat skill, but after seeing how usefull ele could be, I switched... and the more I used ele, the more I liked it, with the result that I'm now AoD, and only 125 DA :o Once I master Mace, DA will become my primary combat focus again.

Master Medium Armorer... I'm enroute. I decided it'd be more fun to have full HQ plans first, so instead of focusing on one tree till 250, I decided to get them all to 150 first. Save for gloves 130, I have them all at 151. Lot of work to go, but I'm in love with my craft, so I'll get there eventually.

I didn't plan on doing much melee (I got my HP from my harvest lvl, go figure...) but seeing how soft a target I was, I picked up my mace and got started. Nowadays plenty people use maces, but back then, I had yet to find one besides myself (ofc I didn't know half as many ppl as I do now, so yeah...) not to mention someone who could craft maces higher than q110 without overcrafting. Master Mace will probably my next master.

So yeah, I've changed my goals quite a bit in some areas, and I've changed my priorites too. When I started, my priority was digging and crafting... nowadays I'm somewhat more into fighting, both with my mace and afflictions.

Interesting thread, you learn a lot about ppl this way :)

At the beginning of retail, Lath's and my initial goals were to reach to 250 elemental and melee respectively. We achieved those ages ago and many others since that time.

However, the one goal we set that we were unable to reach was to avoid foraging and crafting. We even promised each other that we would leave Ryzom in order to avoid either. Circumstances changed though; Out of Cavern went from being a large guild to being a very small guild of close friends. Digging and crafting became necessary if OOC was to survive. Lath and myself then made it our goal to become self-sufficient between the two of us. I'm happy to say that we are very close to achieving that goal.

I always wanted to be... A Lumberjack. Leaping from tree to tree... ehrmm.. sorry :D (regards to Monty Pythons)

Naw, when I begann playing shortly after release, I dreamed for my Lylanea to be sort of a Combatmage. *g*
Well, now she´s more of a Priest of Jena and Melee is one of her weaker skills.
As I begann I had the notion of always keeping Melee and magic on the same level... *LOL* so much for a dream... ;)

I've only got a few months' play time under my belt, but when I started, I wanted to do it all, pretty much. I'd work one thing, get tired/bored with it, then switch to something else. One thing I did that I kinda regret is spreading myself out so much with regards to crafts; Kityara currently has all Fyros weapons plans, even at medium quality, and at present, she can make Q130 2h weapons as her highest skill. As far as digging, well, having to dig up weapon mats as well as armor mats (medium Q120), raised her desert forage all the way to 175, and that is currently her highest skill. Fighting, she has 2h sword at 156 and 2h axe at 155, with the other 2h skills above 101. Casting, her elemental is 126 and her heal is at 130; both her affliction spell lines are < 100.

As to what my goals were, well, I initially wanted to be self sufficient, being able to craft my own weapons and armor, but somehow, my melee and magic skills outstripped my ability to craft the weapons and armor I need LOL. At present, my aim is to 1) raise 2h weapon crafting to 150 in at least 20 weapons, 2) raise melee to 200 or better, 3) raise heal to at least 150, and 4) raise elemental to at least 150. Do I need to focus, or what? *hehehe* At least with armorcrafting, I'll raise that every now and then,, but not with the drive that I'll be giving the weapons. And dig, well, digging for all the mats I'll need, well, chances are by the time I can craft Q160 weapons, I'll be digging Q190 to q200 in desert, so, I'm not too worried about that ;) As to what order I'll achieve these goals, I imagine that I'll wind up with the crafts raised to those levels first, as digging and crafting can be done solo *hehehe*

And one overriding goal I have, that I try to reach everytime I play, is to have fun :D Sometimes that means doing things that don't have any direct impact on skill levels, such as finding the next dig spot in a new area, or trekking to help someone get to the other nations. Cool stuff like that :D

Lets try and keep the Topic off both how "PvP ruined my life" and my Guild ;)
I must say , I respect your guild for being Pro PvP, and actively going out to PvP.
In a community like this, you are sticking your kneck out quite far by doing this, which is inspiring.
Your guild seems to play the game te way you want to, and are totally within your rights! :)

Lol I was there when you lot raided Yrk the other day, very entertaining. Dissapointing that people felt the need to send tickets in! Although partially glad they did, or the town guards might not have been set on you, which was hilarious!! :D

Now if only you weren't Kami :P
