Not sure I understand the question correctly...

If you refer to 'what do you do in the game', then I will explain how I am playing the game.

I am new to Ryzom and Currently looking at what I want to specialize in .....Resource gathering......
There is also the option to PvP or PvE depending on your peronal like/dislikes
Then there is the politics of the land there are three factions to choose from , one being Neutral.
Then there is the option to join a guild or remain independent...I like independent myself and being casually affiliated to a guild who shares my views.
There is so much to do in the game....the best way to start is by concentrating on developing your character....the rest will start to make sense as you progress.
