I'm so lost!

Post by tooke »

I'm finding this game very interesting. However, it is so overwhelming that I am lost. Are there any sites I can go to that talks about skills and stanzas in great detail?

I'm not sure if they contain exactly what you need, but these sites have a lot of information and may be helpful:

I don't know of any sites that are 100% up to date... but if you ask your questions we can try to answer them.

My advise is to download "Klients" - see the thread at the top of the general forum or you can get it under the support section o the site. Log on there and ask away!

*giggles* Maaaan, the times we had without such sites and Tutorials :D
How were we even able to survive? ;)

On my site under Tutorials you´ll find some of Grandma´s Videos. And a collection of Links to good written ones.

One of the joys is learning to modify stanzas, another is to discover how you start moving around in areas that got you petrified early on :D

are there any sort of "template" guides that show you all the skill trees for each skill group, and maybe some ideas on how to mix and match? I would like to get an idea of what is possible and waht seems like fun, since it doesn't seem you can "unlearn" skills and change mid stream. I want to avoif "rerolling" if at all possible.

Well there's good news for you that will probably ease your RPG mind a little: in Ryzom, it's a skill-based system like Dungeon Siege. You can switch gears at any time and you are never excluding one skill by working on another. So if you need to go combat to make it easy to level for a while, you can do that. Then you can grind your magic up or crafting or whatever when you've got more time or it's safer for your character.

Some quick advice tho: in the islands you start out in, you can begin by getting Increased Damage, Self Heal, Accurate shot, and buying a sword and a dagger and wielding them both. That is just the basic basic combat starter. You will see very soon that you have a ton of choices that all work.

Nice huh?

If you like spells, then just remember that basically plants hate cold, and the mammals hate acid. Root and Fear are good too and your first spell experiment might be to try to figure out how to create yourself: 1. An acid spell that costs nothing and has point-blank range, and 2. A Fear with a lower casting time and more sap cost. There's a place to start.

Awsome thanks for the advice. It is cool you can pretty much learn every skill in game, as long as you invest the time and energy. Let the grind begin! lol
