New in Ryzom

I just found out about Ryzom yesterday and so far, i'm pretty impressed. Some of my old SWG guildies are looking to get the trial and some of us might just join in, we never know.

I can't beleive i've never heard about this game before.... The marketing around here should do something, cause i'm pretty sure A LOT of old SWG players would like this game.

R2 seems pretty cool too BTW.

So since i'm on trial, i think i'll go see mainland to see what the game really have to offer.

The harvesting seems awesome... but for some reasons, the foraging sources are starting to act weird and all (explosion, toxic clouds ! lol) since i have Extraction Counterpart 2 and Prospection for Fine materials and lower skills... ???

What does CP do exactly... what skills do i need to counter the bars from dropping fast ?

Resource Preservation and Ground Stability. You'll only need 40 Harvest SP to learn them. The first costs 30 but after you have one, the second is only 10.

Once you have them both, right click on an empty space on your shortcut bar and click New Action.

The root/action type will be Care Plan. Click Add Option and select the Stability stanza, then click Add Option again and select the Preservation stanza. Then click Add Credit and choose Extraction Counterpart -7. Finally, name the action Careplan (or something else convenient and self-explanatory), and click Learn the Action.

Welcome to Atys

No need to rush to get the careplan skills, you can do perfectly well without them until you're about level 60, although at least one or the other is invaluable when team foraging so that one person can dig a node while a teammate uses a careplan to repair the harm done by the digger.

Use a gentle extraction quality brick rather than the aggressive one and sit down, or otherwise cancel your action, before the health or risk bars on your node reach bottom to be a safe and conscientious digger. If you've 250HP then you should survive any explosion or gas caused by not paying attention to the risk bar, so long as you're still on the starter isle. A level 20 forager can learn Accelerated Gentle Extraction which means they can change the Aggressive Speed for a Gentle Speed brick in their extraction, and digging becomes safer still.

In my opinion your early skill points are better spent on prospecting skills than careplans, so that you can find the resources you want.

Hi, welcome to Atys

As you already got several tips and hints what to do to prevent the toxic clouds and expolosions I like to let you know, that you have to encounter these difficulties, because you hit level 10 harvesting. You may have noticed that you had source modes 10-15 before, and now they are 0-5. The source modes 10 and higher are safe learning modes, and now you encounter the 'real' dangers to a harvester.

Careplanning increases the bars. There are two careplan stanzas, one to heal source stability, one to heal source life.

My tips

• When you have to decide which stanza to learn first, go for source stability - a source that dies doesn't kill you
• To prevent that the bars drop too fast, use as many gentle stanzas in your extraction action as possible.
• CTRL-S interrupts you current action.
