"Can't create a window display (1024x768 32 bits)
I'm getting that error everytime I try to start up Ryzom. Does anyone have a solution to fixing this problem? I really want to play this game and I'm losing hours on my free trial =(
Re: "Can't create a window display (1024x768 32 bits)
Is your monitor set to at least 1024x768 resolution and 32-bit color depth?
Do you have an integrated graphics chip such as Intel or SiS?
It would be helpful to know a bit about your hardware.

My display is correct and actually I have SiS

I hate to be a bearer of bad news, but you won't be able to run Ryzom off of that graphics card... I tried on my dad's computer which had an SiS 760, but ended up having to lose my whole free trial because of it.

I'm still here though, so a system upgrade was definitely worth it for me.

Of all of the integrated video chips that use shared system RAM, the ATI Radeon IGP and x series are the only ones that seem to be able to run Ryzom easily. I have not heard of any issues with nVidia, but then I don't know of any systems using nVidia that uses shared RAM. I have heard of rare individuals with Intel graphics that can run the game but they will usually have white textures issues. I have yet to hear of a system with an SiS video chip running the game.
If you have a laptop you are out of luck for playing Ryzom. If you have a desktop then you should be able to buy an AGP graphics card of some sort.

yes, there is graphics options to set things low, but unfortunately there is not possible way to make Ryzom 2d (which low end integrated graphics card are meant to be used).wade2539 wrote:I can't set the graphics on low or anything?
side note: i'm running with integrated nvidia gf6100, about same (just a little slower) performance as gf3 ti200 (which i had before). so, int. gf6100 is fine.
sry, but if you computer does not meet minimum requirements, then there is nothing to do... and Ryzom does need little more out of graphics card than other games.
EDIT: You did run Ryzom Configure and put sliders to low in "Display details" and disabled items in "Display Advanced" tab ?

I'm having the same problem. i've been trying to get the game to play for the last six hours. I'm really frusterated. i have a widows with a pentium 4 (or so it says on the front of my computer). ive tryed setting the resolution higher, no cigar. ive even redowloaded the entire kit-n-caboodle. I don't know what else to try. Ive even turned off my norton antivirus, b/c thats what i had to do when i played WoW. What should i try next. I, too, am on the seven day trial, and i'm starting to feel like giving up and unsubscribing.
p.s. how do you do this: "You did run Ryzom Configure and put sliders to low in "Display details" and disabled items in "Display Advanced" tab ?" because i can't seem to run anything other than the set ups over and over and over... (all i can do is rerun setup, and instalation)

This can happen when graphics hardware accelleration isn't completely enabled.

in Ryzom directory (where you install it), is ryzom_configuration_rd.exe file. you need to run it. (or run configure.bat from there, result should be same)ischa wrote:p.s. how do you do this: "You did run Ryzom Configure and put sliders to low in "Display details" and disabled items in "Display Advanced" tab ?" because i can't seem to run anything other than the set ups over and over and over...
