Windowed/Full Screen Issue

Hello,

I have recently installed the game. This issue I am experiencing is that I can get to the what is supposed to be the character select screen (at least I assume so based on the description in the guide), but I cannot see most of the screen to accomplish anything. A large rotating ? is in the middle of the screen and half of a few cells can be seen on the left of the screen, but nothing else. This also shows the game in a windowed mode even if I have it set to Full Screen. I have switched it to windowed mode to see if it would adjust itself to the window, but it looks the same. Also, I can't close the window in any other maner than the task manager. Any suggestions?

Make sure that your desktop screen resolution is actually 1024x768x32 bits. Some displays smaller than 1024x768 physically will emulate larger screen sizes (laptops are notorious for this.)

It may be that your monitor drivers are not installed properly. Make sure that the list of modes for it in your display adapter properties includes 1024x768.

Video drivers may also be at issue, especially if they were not updated properly. (Remove current drivers, reboot, ignore found hardware messages and run the video driver installer.)

Worse come to worse you can force a repatch of the game EXEs and DLLs by deleting the UNPACK folder and relaunching the game.
