I am the 'exploiter' I will post here what i was doing because i was told it is not an exploit by a senior games master.

So, there's disagrement within Nevrax as to what is and what isn't an exploit.

I'd say if it is a rule of the game that you're not supposed to attack a mob that can't reach you, then it should be implemented in the design and code of the game, just like all the other game rules - ie the fact that you'r not supposed to be able to use a weapon that is above your strength. Imagine we'd have to comply to all the rules by means of self discipline, or that there'd have to be referees who'd make sure we play by the rules.

I'm not so sure mobs should be able to attack you in the water, to solve this exploit. Some aggro NPC tribes actually do that, and mobs can do that during Raids. The fun part is that players can not fight or defend themselves at all while in the water.

I agree that mobs should be able to attack in the water. I also sent a bug report with my current location asking for the island to be removed. It makes levelling too easy, i could sit there all night and gain 10 levels easily. The only risk is training the mobs back to the waters edge so i can reach em. Grouping is much more fun. Maybe they should give an xp bonus to groups. Or take away the 3k cap on xp for soloing!

We've re-evaluated this issue among the team. It will be classified as an exploit from now on. Which means I had to edit some postings here, don't take it personal please. *grins*

The Senior Gamemaster you've been talking to has already passed this on to the development team.

Generally speaking: Entering a state of invulnerability while still being able to fight, is considered an exploit and thus a Code of Conduct violation. I hope this clears things up!

you might want to clarify exactly what this is as I personally am not clear on what you're saying is not permissable.

Either that or just make it impossible in game - in which case I don't need to worry cos if I'm doing it at the moment I won't be able to for long!

It may be a good idea just to 'remove' that particular spot. I dont know how easy or hard that is but it is very inviting

basicly, the mob would have to be able to reach and try hitting you, if your casting or using ranged, its ok to kill them before they get to you, so long as they actually can

Now, I'm only a poor noobling Matis but IMHO an exploit is only an exploit if you intentionally use it. But consider my situation earlier last week. In the middle of fighting some gingos I found that another that had tried to join the party had got stuck between a tree and a bush. Now, according to policy I should have moved to let this gingo attack me rather than exploiting the system by letting it stay there until I had finished off the other 3. But this isn't in the spirit of the game. If you get lucky and something happens, good for you. If I'd planned it, that would be a different.

Remember kids (or old folk like me who seem to be in the majority) it's all about intent. You ****ing around, you going down.

i rewrote my post twice just so i wouldnt include the tree to mob pathing exploit (probly hardest to fix if they wish to keep the cliping planes the way they are [would suck if they alowed the mobs to run through stuff])
