I haven't chosen the race yet. The two that interest me are the Fyros and Zorai so it'll be one of those two.

Regarding guilds, that's good advice. On WoW, there are a lot of people who spam guild invites and it gets annoying. I'd rather a guild gets to know me before they let me in. In the long run, that's best for me and a potential guild I would join.

Your way to join a guild is very sensible. Some guilds on Atys give invites to every unguilded they see, but that doesnt really work here either. So best is to take your time and see what guild you like.
