Exactly. Presumably every guild holding an outpost must want some PvP action; that's precisely what they are for, isn't it? The diplomacy and sharing of resources seems to have tied everyone's hands, preventing them from doing what they really want to do. Is anyone, really, scared to lose their outpost? Are the material rewards so precious?

As I understand, the Karavan Alliance was worried about about their expansionism driving Kamist players out of the game. And it sounded like they had good reason because a lot of Kamists were complaining about not having large enough numbers. Now, though, they have lost a top outpost in Lakelands, in a couple of battles which by all accounts were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved.

No-one really likes to lose, but losing has to be accepted as a part of competition, especially when the real aim is to have some fun. People like to win but winning easily gets dull very quickly. If what you're doing is dull then change what you're doing. It's simple, but not necessarily easy. When things are taken too seriously or, just as importantly, not seriously enough there can be all sorts of problems. That's when the strength of a community tells, I guess.

And let me tell you this... i play MMOs like 6 years. There is always one faction dominating until that faction gets bored of domination and ppl start to switch sides to spice things up again. And this is what would happen here too. Its an up and down of domination... and strenght in numbers of one or the other side. The fight about the OP of OmegaV in the lakelands was a perfect example for this btw...

/agree - We maybe a little too soft sometimes, but that is part of what makes us a good community. As I see it, any faults some of us have is not being able to deal with losing. Time would be better spent organizing & doing something about it than moaning.

I don't think this is actually a turnabout to be honest. It has shaken things up but I don't think it truly represents a reversal of fortune. That was an exceptional circumstance relying on too many factors coming together that aren't going to come together again that often.

The next few attacks will show whether there has actually been a sea-change and rebalancing.

First of all, many guilds holding outposts are not after pvp action at all and indeed quite a number of them are anti pvp. Declaring war on any one of them is met with real life anger and indignation. Most people simply do not want the rewards of the outpost enough to deal with the real time bad blood that a war declaration on one of these guilds would produce. The PvP aspect of outposts is not everyone's reason for holding them and many resent very deeply that it is forced on them in order for them to participate in the new content.

With regards to declaring war on outposts, the ball is no longer in the Karavan Alliance's court and hasn't been for months. We've been rightfully described as aggressive and unfortunately also characterized as "greedy, evil, and arrogant". This, more than anything else, is what has deterred us from more aggressive acts (declaration on an outpost).

It's time for a zorai guild to seriously fight to recover one of the three Matis-controlled outposts in their lands, or for a kami guild to go after an outpost in the forest lands, or... well hell... maybe it's YOUR turn, Jamela! Gather some friends and go after a piece of the landscape for the greater glory of the illustrious guild of Phaedras' Tears!

I think a big reason for stagnate outposts is the horrible negative backlash that comes with declaring war. There seems to be this persistent myth of "birthright" that who ever got their hands first on an OP after they were patched live is the only worthy occupant. Any guild that declares war on them is condemned as greedy, aggressive, and evil. And not just IC, they get accused of "ruining the community" and trying to chase away players. It also makes little difference if they are attacking within their own land or outside of it, both meet equal opposition.

Because of this, guilds are afraid to declare. And the ones that are brave enough (using their real name, not fakes) have difficulty gathering support because no one wants that negative stigma of being community destroyers on their head.

The result is very few outposts that change hands, which seems to be what everyone wants. We like getting fat and lazy on our uninterrupted crystal supply...

we have right now OP battles ... tho one sides looses atm. But thats not a bad thing. If ppl are all fair sports they will enjoy this anway.. even when loosing... its at least not some silly cratchas or whatever you fight at.
However... i saw some real bad griefing playstyles today... and honestly speaking.. the devs have to fix some issues in this game ASAP... it cant be an enemy can heal you and kill you over and over again.. just to grief and cause decay.. DECAY NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM PVP .. it should be fun not something a player has to worry about. Honestly ... the devs need to realize that eliminating grief playstyles needs to be a top priority...
