Continuing through the City, Samar begins to feel that old discomfort coming back again. People!, he mutters, too dang many PEOPLE! So concerned was he with his own discomfort, he barely noticed the sidelong glances from the citizens he passed, didnt realize the normal bustling populace was now crossing the way to avoid his advance, and almost missed the City Guards giving him angry looks.
What DID happen here? he wondered under his breath. Turning the last corner, he noticed his apartment was still intact, though many of the buildings around his were scorched, smoldering ruins. Approaching his apartment building, he was suddenly stopped by the normally complacent attendant standing guard at the door.
Samar! he said with a quick, furtive glance towards the street, Here! I think you should take this, get it out of town if you possibly can! Samar took the proffered bundle, which reeked of smoke and ash. It was heavy, but only about the size of a small yubo whod been flattened by a passing Mektoub.
Thanks, Ill take care of it replied Samar, wondering what the heck was in the bundle.
Making a brief inspection tour of his apartment, as was his habit upon returning from one of his long trips, Samar noted nothing was out of place. Well, at least my Apartment is intact he muttered.
Samar sat in his favorite chair, grabbed the bundle, and began to unwrap it. The more wrappings he removed, the more worried he got, the colder he got in the pit of his stomach, as the shape of the object became clear. As he removed the final wrapping, Samar sat back, stunned. After a minute, he put the object aside, and went looking through his larder for the bottle of Fire Wine he knew was stashed there.
Half a bottle and a good deal of time later, Samar suddenly put down the bottle, rewrapped the object, grabbed his gear, and headed out the door. Pausing only to thank the Building Attendant, Samar made his way out of the City, headed towards Dyron and a quiet cranny hed scouted some time ago. The City Guards seemed only too happy to see him leave; Another one gone, good riddance if you ask me he heard one guard mutter.
Samar took his time, avoiding homins and kitin alike, and eventually came to the little cranny in the cliff wall that was his intended destination. There, he unwrapped the bundle once a gain, inspecting it thoroughly, making sure he hadnt imagined what he thought hed seen back in his apartment.
So, howd you get here I wonder he muttered as he picked up the Retch Axe head, now badly damaged and separated from its haft. Obviously this was a flaming axe head, now bereft of its flame. Turning it over, Samar confirmed the identifying marks hed seen earlier.
Damned Hot Headed Fool! You DID start the fire! Samar knew that nothing and no one could separate Rashan from his Flaming Retch Axe except Rashan himself. The fool probably dropped it in a bundle of old news sheets, maybe in the offices of the "Nexus News" itself. I hope whatever adventure youre on is worth the trouble youve caused.
Carefully wrapping the axe head again, Samar buried it in the sand, safe from prying eyes, then headed out into the desert again, this time to locate the Lady Kostika

Re: Loose Ends
Servy was just waking up from another long night in Nightblade's luxorious apartment. she felt a pang of regret for sleeping in his apartment, in his BED -leaving him to sleep on the rug of some confusing mob, even though he tried throwing her out countless times. suddenly, she snapped awake and scolded herself. she didnt care what happened to NB! angrily she stormed to his dresser and picked out her favorite outfit and dressing quickly, stormed out the door. she had enough of this, she would go make something of herself. She'd show him!.
Passing the door she was ready to give the caretaker her customary kiss when suddenly she realized he wasnt there! Something smelled, ashy.. something must be wrong! turning the corner and running towards the Samsara guild hall - she knew it MUST be something THEY did - she ran into a nervous Gamic.
"Ho! Gamic! wats all the fuss!?" but Gamic seemed not to notice as she dashed into her own apartment. Samar D'naz came sneaking through the back entrance towards his apartment and she put on her most alluring pose.
"Hey Sam! hey.. wait up!" Nothing.. sam was accepting something from an anxious caretaker, who bolted after Sam disapeared into his rooms
"Bah! those Sammys are up to no good i know it! curse the guards for letting them take residence in this fine city!" Servy was determined to find the cause of the ashy smell and set off with an air of bravery and adventure like she'd never felt.. and was suddenly thrown to the floor by a tiny tryker lad dashing in the opposite direction
"Sry Servy! gotta save the world!" Blinking.. Servelan dusted herself off and tried not to get angry.. and realized that the young Fu2 dropped something.. a scrollcase? examining it she found a map of the Corridor.. and realized there was a tear in her sleeve. Servy saw red.. someone would pay.. and she thought she knew exactly who it was...
