My impressions of Atys

Each skill is a seperate 250 and melee splits into multi parts 1h slash/smash/peirce 2h slash(sword/axe)/smash/pierce ..close combat/ hand to hand i think i may have missed one lol but mage is off and def afflictions and heal and ele armor also splits to each peice at 51 (same with jewels)

Yes but theres over 11,000 different levels so it would take a very long time ;p

SoR is largely what you make of it... your not forced into the storyline or PvP. You can pretty much do what you like and suddenly find yourself good at that.

Read up on the lore, learn to play the game. Decide what you want to be when you grow up and do it... You will find like minded folks by doing this and choose your guild (never let them choose you). There is no better way to enjoy this game.

Speaking of skills, that is something I'm not quite clear on. Do you have a total of 250 points to spread around as in SWG or can you achieve say lv250 in melee combat, 250 in defensive magic, and 250 in armor crafting?

Yes, you can become 250 in everything, it just takes time. And you will eventually have more skillpoints to spend than you need so there is no risk of permanently "destroying" a character by wrong choices. Welcome to Ryzom.
