some problem lies in the fact that there is nothing in the game or the environment that denotes individual "character".

Just because bob doesn't like something, doesnt mean Fred wont. Why should bob always get everything he wants?

44/64 - We shouldn't please the 44 people included in that vote?
If it was a handful I might agree, 44 isn't though.

Why should 'Fred' be the only one getting content when he's in the minority? :p

Since when has 'Bob' been getting everything recently? The point of this thread is 'Bob' HASN'T been getting ANYTHING of late but Fred has.

Doesn't 'Bob' have a right to be dissatisfied when the content he has waited for isn't what they originally described for outposts?

If I was the only one complaining about it then you'd be OK to make digs at me, Fred. However, I'm in the majority where PvP content is concerned.

I would also point out that you brought up PvP not me, just so you could rehash the usual deeply thought out pro-PvP argument "hard luck". I never mentioned PvP, I was talking about meaningful content, promised content. ;)

* Puts Fred back on the ignore list and walks away from another pointless (OFF TOPIC) PvP discussion *

Out post's are boring, they don't offer much, there's no point being around them physically, and the rewards they give for owning them? XP Cats and Mats :(
I think the outposts would be fun if they were played the way they are mean to be played but each time it finish in a FvF fight cause all the guilds are feared to lost their little comfort.
But i must admit their rewards are poor and the fake 96 new crafting plans are a joke : all the swords (works with all the items) looks the same ...only enlightment is blue oe yellow ...yeah nevrax good job :P
And i agree in all the ohter things you said , i came to Atys for the exploration ,the skill tree system and plenty of other things that make me stay.
I hope they will realize they go to a wrong way...

yep, in totally faction vs faction game bring in guild vs guild conflict when most (maybe all ? dunno) alliances are formed between guild who are in same cult.

other thing is that outpost are static "stuff" that does not give anything to fight over. it's easyer to make trading agreement than bother to fight... now, make outpost stuff non tradable / guild only... that would make it more fun ;-) (and nerf xp cats to oblivion)

For the record, I agree with the initial poster that new content has been very lean. I'm hoping this is because R2 has been taking so much time and once it's released, the devs are freed up to do something. Maybe we can even hope that R2 becomes a tool that Nevrax itself will be using to get new content to us quicker. I would love to see that happen.

But I have to take a bit of exception to the above statement. We were told when they were first introduced that they would be owned by guilds and that guilds should work to create alliances to help take and defend them. We were also told that they were being made available by the power of the Kami/Kara, so most of us made alliances along those lines. You may not like the end result, but to accuse guilds of not doing things the way it was meant to be seems inaccurate to me.

Now that we've seen the net result, change can be considered, but so far the suggestions we've seen have been one of these 2:

1. Limit it to guilds only; that creates no incentive for trade or cooperation. The largest guilds will hold all the OPs and the rest will be out of luck.
2. Limit the number of participants - that will remove any ability for non-250's to participate. OP's will become content only for the elites.

I don't have any other ideas to avoid the giant FvF battle at this point, but so far the existing ideas have their own major flaws IMO.

But, let's not get too distracted on a whole pvp is good or bad debate here. PvP was an additional bit of content, but they need to do more PvE content as well. They don't need to throw out the pvp content that exists to do that; just build on it to make OP's more interesting *and* start creating more real pve content (not just quick RP events).

A first suggestion - a new land who's challenge level is more along the lines of the roots and contains some supreme mats or a new boss challenge or 2. Maybe a new mob type who's behavior is a bit more challenging (smarter).
