the tips of the spikes look as if they are burning. If you look closely, they are ember like red glows.

Some more of the 'ember' stuff seems to be in small puddles on the ground... looks like blood to me.

The pillars, on the other hand, might contain fire...

This article on Chronicles would suggest they have sap and not blood, and isn't sap green?

Those red things on the ground are leaves, because the shot was taken in an autumnal forest.

That's interesting. I can't recall where, but I seem to recall seeing other wooden things on Atys where the wood appeared to be bleeding.

Perhaps if homins have sap, the trees on Atys have blood?
