A little idea to lighten the mood pvp related

Post by wardone »

Ok there i was hunting the void and i get his idea for a fun activity

Lets have a Homin hunt
I will put myself forward for this duty but would like to see other's maybe take it up as well.
the idea being i or the hunted homin will get 4/5mins to run and hide in a selected low aggro zone (plenty of cover needed low aggro so no dp to people chasing) they can be tagged kami/kara to enable one method of killing and also we can use the duel feature so the faction thats not represented or neutral can still offer to duel and make the kill.(hunted person has to accept duel request no matter what to make it fair)

We can offer a prize to the winner and make a fun event kinda like hide and seek but you get to nuke them when u find them :p

This idea could also be made into a team event perhaps with the hunted homins being in a team with a leader winner is the person to take out the leader i am sure there are loads of different ways to make it interesting and keep it fresh and would be a welcome break from grinding :)

so what i want now is some thoughts on venue and maybe a nice high lvl player to step up and offer themselves as the target to make it a bit more challenging.

so i did have one rule mind to keep it fair and make sure no one gets a head start all the hunters must stay at a specified starting point the hunted will be out in the hunt zone somewhere when the signal for the hunt to start will be given and the timers starts.

Pulling 4 aggro yubo's is permitted though lol :p

cheers

Hmmm... Kind of a test of scouting skills on both sides, so long as the hunted doesn't have to remain stationary... Could be fun, could also be a Recruit Training Exercise. Hey Slythe! Waddya Think?

iirc they had an event in tot ages ago where one player had 2 mins to run away and then the rest of the hordes ahd to track him own and kill him. then they woudlhave 2 mins to run on. suffice to say we all got eaten by everything :D

was kindof fun but the dp sucked.

To add to it, you might ake a riddle or hint of some sort that may tell where the hunted is hiding.

We did a hide and seek type event ages ago with riddles and it was alot of fun. This could be fun too as long as it's taken in a light hearted view.

thanks for the replies guys :)

i was going to try and keep it as informal as possible and to make it as light hearted and fun as poss so not a organised event as such just a bit of fun.

My thoughts are the hunted homin can run anywhere he/she likes within the play zone and does not have to stay still at all.

I was going to try it out one evening after a night of hunting the void and announce it in around chat to see what response i would get the winner would get the loot from a evening hunting prob worth 1/2 mil dappers.

Still not sure what zone to hold it in as fyros is too open with no cover maybe blue zone near Zora or even Yrk perhaps.

cheers

you can hunt me :)

does the hunted homin get to fight back when hes discovered? that way the winner is the person who gets the actual kill in sys info - so maybe hunters cud run in teams as opposed to solo trying to track me down.

or i could be a sitting duck :) just a thought

Both Majestic Garden and Cities of Intuition offer lots of places to hide and plenty of cover, in terms of both scenery and yellow dots on the radar. Cities of Intuition has its little mazes too, while Majestic has more tree cover and more herds of large mobs.

Sounds good for mid-level hunt. How about a higher-level hunt in the Hovel? Instead of a single-person target, let the hunted be a 2 person team. 2 people that work well together and are 200+ nuke/heal can negotiate the maze if they're careful.

The ideal IMO would if the hunted could use their full 250m radar, but the hunters were limited to 125m only. But I don't know any way to enforce that, so... never mind.
