I just stopped at Best Buy a few minutes ago to see what they had.
I asked a clerk about SoR and he couldn't find it.
He had another clerk look it up on their system and it isn't even listed there.
Please.......... There were piles of pre order copies of WOW, EQ2, QW plus plenty of copies of other live MMOs.
SoR has been out for nearly a month and one of the prime national retail chains doesn't have it in stock, doesn't even have it in its system.
Nevrax, please give your publisher a heavy boot to get them packaging and shipping the game to all available outlets.
This is a perfect time to get new players. You have a month before WOW and EQ2 are going to be available.
Many players are looking for something new and now is the time to hook them. (us)
Best Buy??????????
Re: Best Buy??????????
I agree 100%. It would be nice if Nevarax could get the jump on WOW and EQ2 but so far there distribution company has done nothing but drop the ball and kick it under the bed.

BBY is the suck anyways, the only time I ever get anything from them is when all of their competition (both local and national) does not have the item that I want and they are the only ones with it.
Re: Best Buy??????????
Right on. I'd much rather buy from a smaller--preferably local--retailer, than a corporate juggernaut like Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, or Wal-Mart. I think it's kind of cool that SoR isn't available there.nunyas wrote:BBY is the suck anyways, the only time I ever get anything from them is when all of their competition (both local and national) does not have the item that I want and they are the only ones with it.
Re: Best Buy??????????
True, I won't argue the sentiments expressed about Best Buy or any of the big chains.
The issue is that they are the places a lot of people go to buy hardware/software and the other stuff they sell.
They didn't get to be the sizes they are by not selling a boatload of products.
I have also not seen SoR in Wal-Mart yet.
It has been proven over and over that software has to be visible, in a box, handled, and entice the customer to buy it.
If a prospective customer sees the add in the computer magazines and Nevrax did a very good job with those ads, and decides to purchase a copy, it has to be available and available now.
When they go to the software section and cannot locate Sor but then see other products, this gives them to opportunity to change their minds and select something else.
It brings up the risk that they may decide to pass on buying SoR if they do finally see it as they have already spent money and time on another product.

Re: Best Buy??????????
My only hope is that this game is doing very well in across the pond since I do not see if being very popular in the US just due to the fact that in barely got to any stores. First shipment to all the gamestores in my area contained 1-3 copies each ... That was a total of 10 EBgames and GameStops.
