BTW, to take this one step futher. The surviving homins from the Great Swarming were ushered INTO the roots:
"The kitins set out on a crusade to obliterate all traces of hominkind. Many homins were able to escape through the teleportation 'rainbows' leading to safe haven in the Prime Roots of faraway lands. Kami and Karavan forces did their best to give homins safe conduct to the rainbows until these too were destroyed by kitins. http://www.ryzom.com/?page=story_kitin"
and with that being the case why aren't our Prime Roots STILL safe havens (remember, we still are not in the same location as our original home lands but in those faraway lands)
"Refugees in their droves were at last able to rejoin the newly flourishing civilizations that had resurfaced from the Prime Roots in the new lands of promise. http://www.ryzom.com/?page=story_exodus"
With this in mind, is it any wonder that we felt the Prime Roots were fair game?
Since we're still on Atys, and we originally got to these "far away" lands via the Prime Roots, then it's safe to say that the Kitin were somehow able to find a path to this part of the world too. I'm not saying they found the same path, but the Kitin somehow found a path to through the Prime Roots to this part of the world and are still a threat to homin kind. Just to put things into the context of the game, the increased patrols within the Prime Roots would be indicative of the Kitins communicating with each other and showing organizational skills. Stepping up the patrols in the Prime Roots in this part of the world after their attack on the Matis and after Homin have intruded into their realm is not too suprising. It means that the Kitin definitely know where we are now and that we're going to have to be more alert to their precense than before. In their interminable quest for the Dragon, Fyros miners uncovered a nest of kitins in the Prime Roots. http://www.ryzom.com/?page=story_swarming
