team map bug

am I the only one that finds the team map bug annoying? ie. where it shows some but not all of youre team who are in region - and half the time theyre not actually where the map says they are. its a complete pain. and seems to have gone unpatched since i started playing way over a year ago. i presume im not the only person who experiences this. how about nevrax do something about it....

Yes it is a problem and I agree it needs to be fixed. I hope this makes it as one of th little fixes they have planned. ;)

Yes it is really annoying. It has also costs my teammates DP in the past when it has sent me the wrong way.

It doesn't update if others are beyond 250m i believe. So thats beyond targetable + compass ranges, so map really shows last known location. understanding and rationalising it that way i have no probs with it.

I tend to agree with you Aaj, but if they could just not show your distant teammates or indicate that they are out of range, that might be nice. It would be consistent with the idea that homins can't know exact locations of things beyond a certain distance. As it is, it gives the impression we can know it, but it seems bugged.

Yes I agree that would be the best solution. If the range they are at is the cause of an apparent bug then don't show them when they go out of range. Showing their last known location just makes it confusing and appear to be a bug rather than by design. ;)

Aggro now follows for 300+ m - confirmed by GM as known to be happening when I sent a ticket following being killed 388m from commencement of attack, and following sys info having told me combat had ended - attacks following combat ending message also confirmed by GM as known to be happening.

Team member locations should continue to update at minimum of 800m to accommodate team members dispersing in different directions or respawning as the map bug wastes time and causes dp.

Will add the team map bug to my: How Do the Devs Gank Me, Let Me Count the Ways list :)

Sorry, but I think that's silly - ALL of the dp I ever had I brought upon myself (except that one time when ... oh yeah, that was my fault too, for switching graphics cards). Most of it willingly gambled.

The map bug is a serious issue though, as I've so often run to a teammates location to find noone there but DEATH. I'd like it if teammates' last known location showed up as a different colour if they are not within targetting range, or not at all. I'd much prefer that they do show up on the map since this is often the only chance of rescuing / retrieving a disconnected team member.

Its more the inconsistency that is annoying..
why is it that the map can show team members who have just 'ported into the region, when you are over a K away from the tp and havent laid eyes on them at all, yet totally stuffs up on people who have run ~ 600 m away, or still tries to tell you people are 5 m away when they died, respawned in a different region, left team and logged off, 20 minutes previously ?
