Well if the situation in Yrkanis is as bad as you say it is then I applaud your defensive measure. There is the worry that any Kami followers will now be 2nd class homins in that city - their faction rivals are free to bear arms yet they are not. Then again, I'm sure Kami followers are a lower class in the eyes of most Yrykanis residents anyway. It doesn't really affect me which is a shame as I'd gladly work to keep the streets clean.

I've not heard of a similar situation in the other lands unless I'm out of the loop. Neutrals and peaceful Kamists make up most of the population of Pyr, the jewel of the desert. Some no doubt think this defensive shield might gradually increase over the whole of Verdant Heights and then Atys itself, but that remains to be seen.

utlimately this is another act of Karavan aggression and arrogance thinly veiled as a defensive measure. You are saying that any Kami who supports openly their faction will be attacked without regard in the Matis captial.

How long i wonder until you extend this to all the Matis lands, then Tryker, and the whole of Atys?

It shouldn't come as a surprise that this action receives a frosty response, and for those unaware we Kamist's suffer the same indignities - but attempts are made to deal with the troublemakers not demonise every Karavan supporter.

I actually find this a quite interesting development :)

Not at all. We don't think of them as a lower class. Confused and mislead by their "gods", yes. But we don't think of them as lesser homins.

This is defensive and we will be aggressive in enforcing this act. But veiled it is not, we made sure to post a copy of our edict at every city entrance, the stables and well as the merchants bulletin area. We owe it to our residents to be as clear as possible in our intentions. We will be quite happy to see and hear more of our residents winding their way along cityways. We haven't seen a child at play since poor Viccia fell to an errant spell by one of your lackies.
OOC:
Interesting to see the posturing in the forums by Kamists that are already unflagging before entering our city... VERY INTERESTING !

It appears that Yrkanis is where the Kamists were sending their hitsquads. Had the child been of nobility, who knows the bloodshed that may have resulted. Alas, it was the Karavaneers whose dappers bought her the finest burial site available outside Yrkanis. Her humble family were distraught enough over having lost such a lovely spirit, we couldn't add a financial problem to their troubles. We all hope this is the last innocent killed during this conflict, us soldiers choose our fate. Poor Viccia had hers chosen for her by a careless Kami caster, hiding his threat by carrying his pick when he entered town.

Our militia grows daily in Viccia's honor.... we will not be unprepared again !

So let me get this right, you pro-PvP Karavan supporters are using a made up incident - the made up death of "Poor Viccia" - to excuse your "defense" of your city? To excuse your attack first ask questions later stance in Yrkanis?

Have I understood that right? :D

Just wanted to make sure I was clear on this - your posture wont affect me cos my PvP is permanently off. Nor do I bother visiting Yrkanis too often - too wet there for my liking. :D

This thread has to be the biggest joke in the whole war. For one, if i run into Yrk alone with my kami tag on, I fully expect to be killed anyway. And two, theres not an innocent homin thats ever been killed in a PvP fight..YOU HAVE TO HAVE A TAG ON TO BE KILLED. its been said numerous times. This is the whole point of the tags. If you don't want to be attacked in Yrk, then take your own tags off, don't tell kami's they need to take theirs off to come in the city, and please stop killing in our streets...thats just whining. You have your tags on as well. there is no safe zone other than a teleporter. If i come to Yrk and see anyone with a Kara tag on sitting in front of a stable, I'm not going to attack.its not fun killing someone who can't fight back. Now if i come to yrk and theres a group of tagged homins with amps on :D ..now thats fun, even when i die.

People need to lighten up. I can't believe that ANYONE is complaining about being killed. Not a homin on atys has the right to gripe about being killed in PvP, you have a choice to NOT wear your tag. I proudly wear my tag AFK, digging, crafting, or just sitting chatting. If a karavan happens by and kills me, guess what,IT'S MY FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was tagged, which means i invite attacks no matter the circumstance..i want to be attacked and i want to attack..its an element of the game now..it's my choice

So please quit making stupid posts like this..theres no point. If you want an area to go to to be in peace TAKE YOUR TAGS OFF YOU WILL BE IN PEACE BECAUSE NOBODY CAN ATTACK YOU its simple..most players are pretty well educated and intelligent in this game, anyone have a hard time understanding the concept of tags here?

edit....never mind all i said..just getting bored waiting for server to reopen...see ya in yrk when it does..hope you armed and ready :D

Can I or any of the other Karavaneers here tell you how every Karavaneer will behave? No. We're fairly united, but we're not one single entity. :)

It's my personal intention not to enter a Kami town armed (unless I'm looking for a fight)

OOC (sorry): or if I need something real quick and the 30 min minimum hasn't passed, but then I do so at my own risk

But keep in mind, this new policy is just the defense of one town. We're not trying to set policy everywhere. If you and other Kamists decide to take similar actions in your own towns, we understand. Contrary to certain ranters (not you, Ali), we're not complaining; we're acting.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be easier if the karavan in Yrkanis put aware their own weapons and not show themselves ready for a fight than trying to make the Kami put theirs weapons away? After all if there is no target they have nothing to attack.

Then we in our own town would be held hostage to these folks that come spreading ill-will. Instead, we are setting the rules of our town. If you would like to come visit you are welcome to. Come unarmed though please.
