Getting black screen when logging in
Getting black screen when logging in
Everytime, I try to log in. I get the loading screen but then it goes black and I can't do anything pls help
Re: Getting black screen when logging in
Could be video driver/hardware configuration problems.
We would need a few details such as video card and what drivers you are using before being able to diagnose anything. Also, do you have DirectX 9.0C installed? You may need to force the video mode to OpenGL or Direct3D. Or maybe disable some of the advanced graphics functions if your video is not the most capabale.

How do I check my video card and make sure that I have directX 9.0 I think I'm capable of running the program I play City of Heros and City of Vilians. I know I have a 2.6Ghz, 512Ram with 126Ram for Video Card. I know I have the most up to date video driver. I'm using a HP Pavilion laptop
Re: Getting black screen when logging in
CoH and CoV do not need near the same graphics capability as the Saga of Ryzom. Those games will run on pretty well any video system. And there are many models of HP Pavillion laptops so that does not tell me much. Knowing the HP line of products I would hazard a guess to say that your laptop most likely is using an onboard video chip with shared RAM. So most likely will need the game settings lowered, the advanced graphics functions disabled and the mode forced to OpenGL to get the game to launch properly. You can get to the Game Configuration from the launcher login window.
You can respond to the email from support-ee@ryzom.com with a copy of the diagnostics text from the dxdiag* program and we can advise you further.
* How to run dxdiag: Click 'Start' button; Select 'Run...' ; Enter dxdiag in the input box; Click 'Okay'; Click the button 'Save all information' and name an output file; Attach that file to your email.

Re: Getting black screen when logging in
I have a HP pavilion ze5400, with all the updated video drivers. I also downloaded DirectX 9C. Didn't help. If I could reduce the graphics I would, but it's the log in screen that goes black. Is there any other way I can reduce the graphics on the game from outside our increase my video driver?
Re: Getting black screen when logging in
There is a configure.bat file in the Ryzom folder.
I couldn't find specs on a Pavilion ZE540 but I was able to find specs on the ZE5400. It has an ATI Mobility Radeon M6 in it. That chip will be hard pressed to run Ryzom. You will have to force OpenGL mode and disable all of the 'display advanced' options.

Black screen when logging in?
Try the CHECK DATA button in the login screen.
If it gives you something about newbieland_zones.bnp, you'll need to re-install.
