The Yrkanis Shielding Act
"A parchment is stapled to the bulletin board in the town square, the stables and all the entrances to Yrkanis"
We the homins of of Atys have tried our best to live our lives in peace whenever there wasn't a need for hostilities.
The city guards are currently under orders to let things work themselves out, and our intention is to shield our townfolks from further aggression from the Kamists. Nothing short of coming into our towns totally non-combative will prevent the defense forces of the Karavan from attacking Kamists on sight in our cities. We hereby declare Yrkanis off-limits to ALL battle capable Kamists, regardless of race, until further notice. With the coming of winter (this Thursday) our defensive protection pact will take effect. After that time any homin that follows the Kami entering our city, that appears hostile, will be dealt with in accordance with this Act.
We have gone about our daily duties to survive and provide a better environment for our brethren and our children. Formerly peaceful areas have become a battlezone for rogues and our cities are no longer safe. No longer are you considered a non-combatant while you are resting, crafting wares or just chattng with other homins. This has to stop !
The Matis (and of course the Karavaneers) did not vote to have a Kami presence in our lands, but we didn't object to having known enemies among us... UNTIL the rogue elements of the Kamists forced forced us to act in our own defense. We have suffered long enough to these rogue Kamist's entering our towns in peace and then attacking innocents. Too often we return from hunting for our families to find our brothers and sisters lying IN OUR TOWNS, fallen to Kamists, while holding a pick or a crafting tool. These rogues would enter town with similar items in hand to appear friendly, take care of their own business, then attack at will.
Our youngest homins and weakest young soldiers grow up here and need protection from these attackers as well as the lonely warrior resting under the shade of our great forests. In light of these repeated violations of peaceful co-existance outside of hostile zones, the followers of the Goddess Jena and the Karavan are no longer considering any Kamist combat ready in the town of Yrkanis for ANY reason to be friendly or non-combative.
Our brethren in Fairhaven and our other towns do not yet have a need for this same shield on their lands, as they are not currently suffering as those who venture through Yrkanis are. These towns will all be defended through the proper channels if help is needed. The Shield of Jena will form around all of our towns as needed to stop the bloodshed carried out under the banner of peace by the Kamists.
If you come in peace into our Yrkanis, you will come as a non-combatant. If you use this to slip past our gauntlet and provoke us more, then individuals and rogues will not even be extended that courtesy. We have suffered too often to similar disguises and will no longer tolerate this. Guilds that repeatedly attack our townsfolks will be marked as the enemies of the Karavan and further action may be taken. Our children will have a safe place to live while their warrior parents are out hunting to provide for them...
OOC:
If a Kamists enters Yrkanis PvP flagged, it does not matter what is in your hands or your heart, we have been fooled too many times !
These defensives measures were taken as a result of repeated attacks by certain players and guilds on AFK, sitting and crafting members of the Karavan in Yrkanis.
In light of the new PvP timers, there is little excuse for coming into Yrkanis tagged unless your intentions are aggression against the Karavaneers in town.

Pegasus Foundation stands with you. While we do not require our members to be armed for battle (pvp flagged) at all times, those that are will stand with you whenever it is possible.

Re: The Yrkanis Shielding Act
I assume that your protection will only cover yrkanis, and not the kami teleporter that is fairly close (but outside the city limits). If this is not the case, it might help to make sure that the kami's of atys know that they shouldn't be combat ready even at their own teleporter.

Re: The Yrkanis Shielding Act
With 30 sec to turn it off i wouldn't think that should be a problem for peaceful intent kamis. And the Kami tp safe zone would allow sufficient time to switch off offending tags.

Re: The Yrkanis Shielding Act
I have never killed an unprepared homin when they are sleeping, crafting, or digging and I have no intention of starting with such underhand tactics. This defense of Yrk is a matter for its citizens, but I will not waver in my support of the Kami on the demands of the Matis.
If you wish to kill me when i visit Yrk to train then so be it, just remember that all actions have consequences.

Re: The Yrkanis Shielding Act
I take note of your intentions, but I won't take off my tag neither, even when going to Yrkanis for training.
Just for clarification, do you speak for yourself, your guild, or does this mean all Karavaneers agreed on that ?vguerin wrote:the followers of the Goddess Jena and the Karavan are no longer considering any Kamist combat ready in the town of Yrkanis for ANY reason to be friendly or non-combative.
Re: The Yrkanis Shielding Act
This has been noted, and I will see what I can do.

Re: The Yrkanis Shielding Act
The intention is to protect the city and it's inhabitants. I do not believe the intent is to send patrols out to the Kami TP unless the problems we are having become much worse.akicks wrote:I assume that your protection will only cover yrkanis, and not the kami teleporter that is fairly close (but outside the city limits). In my mind, I consider the Kami TP to be similar to a foreign government's embassy; it's their property in our lands and should be left alone. But, if they don't disarm when they arrive, any movement from there is at their own risk.

Re: The Yrkanis Shielding Act
If you mean to test our resolve at defending our townsfolk and come into Yrkanis combat ready (pvp flagged), we will not ask you your intentions. Too many times in the past this method was used to enter our cities to conduct acts of war.namine wrote:I take note of your intentions, but I won't take off my tag neither, even when going to Yrkanis for training.

I would suggest you use another city to conduct your business, and not do anything while there to cause us to defend those as well. There are soldiers like Rushin who have been honorable in the past, but this proclamation has to include all Kamists until our streets are safe again.
