Re: Outpost suggestion
[QUOTE=kyesmith]i love how much the kara gloat over this, well done you won an outpost with a huge advantage of numbers in a game where in large scale pvp being lvl 250 or 210 means nothing gratz! if any kara where to beat me one on one in game i wud be suprised (with the exception of anissa god bless her)
kara will within a few week make this server ****, guilds like TS and evo who have played fair i respect, melonie, OV and CoM you have ruined the server for everyone on the oposite fraction. You have won the battle and the war, great but if you had done it with equal numbers then i would show some respect as it is i show none, you are all a bunch of low ballers who have no respect for anyone else in this game!

Re: Outpost suggestion
My observations;
With Infinity the Kami/Karavan sides were more or less balanced in the big OP battles I attended (maybe with a slight edge to the Kami). But that was with at least a couple of notable Karavan guilds not taking part, and with assistance from at least one neutral guild (the Samsara) on the Kami side. So the Karavan have always had a larger potential force available to them than the Kami.
If the Kami side had ever tried to exploit that small numerical advantage, as some would've liked to do, by attacking the Karavan guilds OPs, it is likly that the non-participating Karavan guilds would've decided to take part and the Kami would've lost anyway. The only reason we've had a more or less stable division of OPs up to now is the defensive strategy of the Kami made it more difficult for the Karavan Alliance to call out their troops.

Re: Outpost suggestion
my god how much of an idiot are you exactly? and if you had a brain to engage u might realise that there arent too many fyros/zorai karavan supporters begging the big kara guilds to win them an ophelomax wrote:DT its sad you cant see past your nose. but if it makes u feel ne better u will be helping me from now on . and as for my in game name well tuff luck on that one lol. dont u just hate that
back on topic, limiting numbers for OP battles would indeed solve a lot of problems, but it will be irrelevent when spires go live. Dont have any bright idea's for that, but a gameplay mechanic to balance the sides seems a virtually impossible thing to do

I think you have it all wrong Kye. I was Kami for a long time. I canceled my account a couple of times since I started playing. Of course i have friends that are Kami, But now i see that the peeps on the Karavan side all seem to get along better than the Kami ever had. I like the game more since i started being a Karavan. I have more interaction with guilds on the Karavan side than i ever had with the Kami side. The Kami guilds seemed more intent on slinging mud at each other..while the Karavan guilds liked the"can't we all just get along attitude". They were friendlier and become dominate. What else would you expect.

If you on;y knew... You wish all of this were true, except it isn't. Yeah, it is an OP battle. Come battle on a time that is not a weekend, or a time you can arrange some help. Or try and negotiate a GvG situation.
The truth is, as much as you think that Melinoe, OV, and CoM have ruined it for everyone, they actually spend more time making sure we don't plow over you all because we would much rather have a battle, and have it go back and forth.
No you do not see those discussions, but my word is sound. Ask around, this fact is true, as much as you don't want us all running over the server and squashing all the opposing OP owners, we do not want that twice as much. It would ruin the game, and for us not to see that as we have even before you did would have been silly.
If I recall correctly, 2 OP's have changed hands. One due to Infinity's doing banning guilds from the battle, and the other due to from what I heard, a very hard fought battle. It seems you all are declaring you have lost the war and that it would be impossible to do anything when only 1 or 2 OP's have changed hands.
Mix it up, battle hard. You could catch someone off guard, or take it to them and kick their butt. Tactics in my eyes are not to be underestimated. I think a force muc as a 2:1 underdog could have a considerable chance at
taking an OP if they were smart and well organized. The well organized bit being the harder part.
P.S. If I recall correctly, CoM and all their friends got stomped when they tried to take an OP in Zorai a few weeks, maybe a month or more back.
Noin. (relax, and find a way, I know you can.)

you'd much rather have a battle?..then why did you bring an army that you knew was 2 or 3 times larger than the Kami?marct wrote:The truth is, as much as you think that Melinoe, OV, and CoM have ruined it for everyone, they actually spend more time making sure we don't plow over you all because we would much rather have a battle, and have it go back and forth.

and if you think that 2:1 underdogs have a good chance..then why don't you defend your OP with those odds?..it'll never happen cuz you know thats a crap statement

Defenders have an advantage... and you never know who is going to show up. You put your best foot forward and see what happens, it has not always worked as we all know.bgraz wrote:you'd much rather have a battle?..then why did you bring an army that you knew was 2 or 3 times larger than the Kami?

We have taken as many beatdowns as we have given... We have merely won the last one.

Re: Outpost suggestion
Having a game mechanic to limit the number of players participating on each side will merely decrease the value of diplomacy. Get your little posse of max lvl players and forget everyone else...
Then the less combat intense players are not only left out of outpost battle participation but generally lose thier weight in political bargaining as well.
Who wants that?
