Crafting Options (skill upgrades)

Post by silverkl »

i brought the Tool Crafting Option hoping to be able to make tools like picks and such but when i go to use to with a Tool Crafting Material, i get no option to create any tool like you do when you go to make armour for plans you have and at the craft trainer there seems to be no plans to buy to be able to make the tools with.

did i just waste 25sp on a option that doesn't work?

i wish i could get rid of some skills i have learnt to get the sp back i used

The tools crafting plan is designed to make tool from OP mats. If you do not have access to those mats yet, yes you could have invested wiser but it was not wasted.

You buy the tools to make gear from the tool marchant.

What Doubletap explained is correct; you won' t be able to manufacture tools without the necessary OP material.
I' ll add to that that when buying the toolcraft skill you do not automatically acquire the plans (or schematics if you will) for each specific tool; those have to be bought again from the 'specialised tree-bore or drill plan trainers'.

Unfortunatly there is no way to respec unwisely spend sp.
My advice; 25 sp may seem a lot at the early stage of the game but it really ain' t. Best try to concentrate on only buying craftplans you really need, and when in doubt, don' t hesitate to ask around how they all work.

Ouch, they have those on the vendors on newb island... now that is surely an oversight since you don't have access to those mats there at all. Outpost mats are special mats derived from owning an outpost and drilling for them.

Save it for a rainy day... the other tool we mentioned you BUY from the merchants... be sure not to buy the tool tool, though you will eventually need one to go with the skill you purchased. You will use the bought tool and an OP mat to make an OP tool... :P

An OP tool will allow you to make weapons/gear with bonuses (noted at bottom of screenie).
