Returning home

Post by balsalt »

Been just over a year since I let my account expire. Good to see some old names still in game, my own was of no consequence, so no harm not recalling me at all.

I am going to spend a week or so refamiliarizing myself with the lore and controls. Before I was Fyros and Kami per guild lines, but since our guild never bought into this game, I am not only free to follow my whims (Tryk at heart) but also my loyalties (Karavan has the answer).

Perhaps someone can point towards a Karavan orientated guild that favors Trykors so I will have some idea who to talk to onc I get settled back in.

I see I need to fix my avatar as well..... :o

*Vaguely remembers the forum name*
Welcome back nonetheless :D

As for guilds - some would say that the Trykers are a tricky bunch, so it really depends on what you are really looking for. I would say that your choices are along the lines of:

OmegaV - A Karavan guild based in Matis, but with members of all races
Aeden Artisans - An "outspoken" Tryker guild that is very Karavan aligned.
Evolution - A Tryker guild where "each member is free to do as (s)he pleases"... they are Karavan aligned by game mechanics but have fought against other Karavan guilds just as much as they have fought beside them.
Red Ribbon Army - A Neutral Tryker Roleplaying guild... they are styled on a band of brigands and have fought alongside the other "neutrals" and Evolution many times

Apologies if I missed anyone out :o

Another thing that is often said is this... "Trykers are Tryker first and anything else second... Everyone else is Kara/Kami/Neutral first, and anything else second"

Whatever you choose, enjoy yourself :D

Howah Ybe!

Ego remember my primer Kami enemy, the Shadowclan guild !, noble Kami and fyros warriors, tu me absolbus my ancient fyrosian rusty est, apprentis by long conversations with Ifritan, ergo ego will keep it short.
Tu es welcome back in game ! :D

Ani,

PS. Ohhhh Shadowclan :) memories, memories.... I can't believe it's more than one year already. A nice RP guild, with their own language very latin-like. It gave me a reason to RP and a funny and healthy ic pvp. I almost crated a fyros Kami zealot just to play with Ifritan :0! Ohwah!

Welcome back to game and I hope you enjoy your new avatar !

Welcome Back Ybe, I am sure you will find Atys a fun and welcoming place whever you decide to settle.

A welcome to a newcomer or returner is no place for politics but Spriteh commented on Evolution.
It is true we have been at odds on some issues with some guilds claiming to be "the" karavan are but really just hiding behind the Kara flag to justify their actions.
Dont take my word for it check the Steeles, where it counts Evo have been behind our Lady Jena but will always take other issues into account and do allow our members alot of free action without prejudice.

Nahhhhhh - I'm a Zorai above all else, but the kami are who i trust and its Ma-Duk that i believe in. I think all this tryker talk in attacking whirling and pushing OV outta Aeden Aqueous has blurred you spriteh :p I'd say for Twilight Whispers the most important thing is our Zorai nationality but it is a requirement that we are kamists too.

Anyway im about to take this ooc so ill just say welcome back to the game, i hope you enjoy it :)

The downloads were long, so I only logged on briefly to set things for my new system and check Ybe. Nice to see someone remembered SC's foray here :)

Shadowclan still is a registered guild, though I am the only active member, and holds an apartment and Ybe holds a fair chunk of change which by our rules are guild resources, so I'll be making a clean break with a fresh character name. While the name is still present, the guild is not active, nor do I know of any plans to make it so.

The last part "Trykers are Tryker first and anything else second.." is exactly my line of thinking.

(all IC, in case it isn't obvious... oh, yeah and "I speak for myself and my guild", but no one else. Gotta get those standard disclaimers out of the way these days)

Many of the Tryker guilds seem to be following a path of passive dislike of the Karavan. Those same Trykers love to use phrases like "tryker first, but everyone else second", but their actions seem to indicate that they hate the 2 factions and everything they've given us.

Aeden Artisans is one of the few Karavan aligned guilds that consistently speaks in favor of Tryker unity under Jena and even their friend Spriteh refers to them as "very karavan aligned". I guess it's all relative; I don't agree that AA is a nearly as fanatical as they're critics would have you believe.

If you are really interested in following the Karavan, make sure you ask your prospective guild exactly how it supports Jena and the Karavan. Is it a technicality so they can use the TP's or do they support the Karavan's goals in Atys in their actions?

Some of the Tryker guilds seem to regard the Matisians as oppressors when they are in fact solid allies with the Tryker federation. Ask your prospective guild how it regards the Tryker's traditional allies. Aks your prospective ally who they are allied with and see if those allies stand in Jena's light or Ma Duk's delusions.

Once you understand what level of Karavan support you wish to play and what level the prospective guild has, you can make your decision.

(shameless plug - Pegasus Foundation is based in Matis, fully supports the Karavan, the Tryker federation and the Matis kingdom. The Tryker in our membership are fully equal members and officers. Feel free to check out our website and send a tell to myself or our leader, Heavyn. We are not fanatics, but we are consistent in our support of the Karavan)
