Still patching ... =(

Speaking of which ... If you get really beat up during a fight, how long does it take before you're 100% and ready for the next battle if you're solo?
Well, for seeing something new, you can always go exploring - one of my favorite things to do. There are no level restrictions on where you can go, so if you learn how to travel carefully you can get into all kinds of interesting and exciting places :D .
If you are fighting solo, you just have to find the right creatures to fight. You won't get 3000 XP per mob, but you can get a steady 1000-1500 with very little downtime. Or if you spend a lot of time afk like I do, you can just fight one bigger mob and then rest while you are afk doing other stuff :) .

As a new player, I found it far more productive and fun to get 300-600 xp per monster while levelling offensive magic and/or combat skills. I could kill non-stop and not have to deal with the downtime. 1500-3000 xp is more realistic for two+ person groups and for experienced players levelling a sub-tree skill.

I love Ryzom because.......It is the most beautiful world ever created for a MMORPG, each land has it's own theme, think Sahara, Russian Steppes, English Countryside and Waterworld (without Kevin Costner).

You can just sit and look at the stars, or go trekking, have a cool converstaion, with a complete stranger....and then kill them :p

You need only one character and can bring them up all the skill trees, there is always something to do.

Get yer ass into the game and enjoy :)

BTW, if you get killed and someone rezzes you, you dont get death penalty :)

Yeah, you are much better off with lower XP, and turning more mobs into meat faster. I had found a refugee sweetspot where I could kill a mob with 1 shot and get 600-800 XP. Where the next level up took 3-4 shots and they got just as many shots in. It was 2000 XP or so, but took me twice as long to get the same XP.

Picking the right baddie is very important. Watch out for the aggro dragging herbivores too, it may seem safe till they run right to you with a big bad dog on there butt.

This is all assuming that max rate of XP gain is your goal :D . Personally, I am more interested in a challenge than in how much XP I get, so I tend to go for bigger mobs and just put up with the extra downtime.

For that matter, if you're recovering mostly sap or stamina, just remember you can switch between physical combat and magic for less downtime.
