Factional RP Guilds?

Ryzom has put more effort into its lore than most other MMORPGs, though. Most MMORPGs don't even deserve to be called that...they're simply MMOGs. XD

Sorry but in context it simply hasnt, it has a decent amount of lore for the size of the ingame world. Which is fairly small in reguards to say Norath or Azeroth, however Ryzom doesnt have the same feel to it, possibility because you came to Atys as a refugee, there isnt that same deep historic feeling you can fall into like in some of the other MMORPGs.

What we know about the official lore posted on the website and the little in game, can be writen on the back on a postage stamp compaired to other MMORPGs, who have both muiliple lore based websections and a rich tapestry of well pressented in game lore.

The good thing about Ryzom is your free to play with what little you do know and have to discover the rest for yourself.

I did say most, not all. Most of the MMOs I've looked at, and I've looked at a lot, have very little, with very little effort put into it. Some have none at all, yet call themselves MMORPGs.

Anyway, looks like I've managed to derail another thread. >_< This is about RP guilds within Ryzom, not lore in MMORPGs.

Factional RP Guilds? yep they exist, or rather within strong faction aligned guilds are factional roleplayers that when the situation calls for it can be very vocal, to get an idea just look at threads which start or get twisted to kami v karavan debates and opinions. Factional rp tho is fairly seemless with gameplay trends so there is little need for a rp only faction guild as most faction aligned guilds will have their RPers already which readily RP with opposed factions on a fairly normal basis aswell as espousing the virtues of their own faction to guild members and friends.

Many time i've advised players on the dangers and veiled threat of the kami, involve myself in theological and political debate. I may not often do the side rp type events such as pub nights or murders in pyr, as they simply do not interest my character, but politics, debate, philosophising and conversion are far more rewarding to me (as is vanity)
