New to Ryzom

Hi all, I'm new to Ryzom, trying out the game with the 7 day trial. I've played probly 7 or 8 other MMOs so I have been experienced as Jimi would say. Looking for some friends here to get started, I really know very little of the game at this point, it just looked very different from the standard fare, which is why I'm here.

Welcome to Ryzom!

Ryzom is unique, it is engrossing and addictive.

It is generally acknowledged that the starter Islands are difficult, bland and can be frustrating. There is very little hand-holding or help.

When you actually get into the game there is lots to discover. It is an open game, there are few restrictions and plenty of interesting things to do. I have been playing seven months, I play about 25 hours a week and at the end of each session I still have things I want to do.

Stanza.....whatza?

uhhh hows tracking deposits/prospecting work? more so tracking i get the general idea of prospecting.

differences/when to use different extract skills?

Welcome to the game. If i'm online I will go adventuring with you or help you learn your place in Atys. My characters name is Boall. you can /tell Boall Hi or open your friend list and add me to it. If nothing happens when you do that it means I am not online.

Little tip for you: First thing to do is press K and remap ALL the keys lol For some reason Nevrax didn't get the memo on the standard MMO keymapping that most people are familar with.

Yeah, I've created several characters and had to remap the keys each time hehe. I think I am getting the idea of things now. I would like to be a mage-type though, and that does seem to be the hard stuff to level combat-wise. Thanks for the help and advice everyone, and I'd love to hear from you in game (I'm some version of Doczoidberg/Doczoid/Doczoidz.)

I think I am going to try the game out for the full first month, although I may be fairly busy this month and not able to play all that much at times.
