I've never seen a piece of Kami Jewelry...can we use them? what are the reg? what advantage over normal jewels?

No different than normal jewels.

There's no difference "Kami jewelry" vs "karavan jewelry" other than the fact that "Kami" jewelry is worthy of being capitalized... and "karavan" isn't.

To your question... they are the same crafting plans for both sides of the conflict. During the FvF a few months back there was a decided advantage for the karavan because they had Padawan and Sinful as their public aid, faction crafters. So... We (my Guild and I) took it upon Ourselves to end up with a crafter who can fill the same shoes for the Kami cause... as to not be at a disadvantage. That said... there is nothing special about the jewelry other than to say; jewelry is a big pain in the arse ("arse" is my tribute to Seti, Schizzy, and Pos... woot for goofy accents) and We are trying to be here for the Kami side ... and this is (apart from Our outpost defense pledge) Our current "great idea" for helping other Kamis.

following these steps would make bri's life a lot easier
