*gulp* Is this server dying?

Post by dhuberma »

Hello,

It's 9:30pm EST on Monday, January 23rd. I'm in the forest, which I'm told is generally the most populous race-zone. Knoll of Dissent is empty except for me. Fleeting Gardens has 7 people in it. Majestic Garden has 22 people in it. That's ~30 people in three major zones in the forest. I knew the Jungle was desolate, and the desert has a steady, if low, population, but 23 people in three large zones in the forest at East Coast US primetime? *cry*

Best regards,

We're seeing more and more people showing up in Atys. Either new accounts or oldies signing back up. If you want an example, try a /who in the Void. Its been packed recently with people leveling up or digging. Perhaps East Coasters had enough common sense to not go Matis :p

I am one of those newbies, this being my ~fifth week playing. I'm enjoying the game, but it's hard to make new friends with such low populations in the areas I've been. What is the Void? I do not see it on my maps.

I have seen such an increase in people lately. You just need to get to other lands, that is all. Maybe you can get a group of people together to help you one day (yell in region a lot at yrkanis). I'm sure someone will help you get to another land eventually to explore and find more people and death penalty.

Exploring new lands is what we do in my guild (of two people :p ) :) I've spent considerable amounts of time in the desert and more recently in the forest. I found the jungle unfriendly, socially. The friendliest area I have found is Fairhaven, but alas, we just don't get out there much.

My point in this thread was that the forums here have consistently characterized the Matis as the most commonly selected race, and in turn, Yrkanis as the most populous capital. Though a Monday night, I found myself quite surprised at the very low population in the zones immediately surrounding Yrkanis and in the capital itself. Wednesday nights are traditionally the slowest nights in N. American MMORPGs (based on my own empirical evidence over the last 6 years).

It's very hard to make new friends and find teammates in a low population area. I know this is a very small population game, but I'm enjoying it, and I just want to be able to continue enjoying it by broadening my social network where possible.

[QUOTE=dhuberma]What is the Void?

Well young Matis, firts let me welocome you Atys, your along way from the old lands but we'll take care off you :) My name is Windra, Guardain of the Wind and Brother of Aqua the Water Guardain, we're both Trykers.

The Void is what some like to called the biggest death trap on Atys, Exp paradice, Land of the levels, these are some names we give the Void or what my friends and i call it. The Void is a goo infested area of Zoria, there you will find homins of all races and powers fighting boss and creatures that make ragus and gingos look like yubos.

Dont worry about the Void just yet, you'll be eaten alive, and this isnt a joke. The Void is a lvl 200 zone (purple star). Now when you get to Zoria and reach the Void tp's depending on who you follower (Ma-Muk or Jena) you'll find several homins who will help you lvl. Just asked, the void is usually full of homins. At night and on the weekands you'll find even more. :)

Just asked for help, im a sure you'll find a team to help you and your friends.

9pm EST is 2am GMT. So most EU players are gonna be curled up under their duvets sleeping and dreaming of not going to work (or school) the next day.

You should see more of us around on weekends though. Some of us have no lives so we stay up playing til the wee hours. :D
