sashtan entered the bar early. not out of hope of picking the best spot to get a date but because she wanted to secure a spot by the bar. Cen the barmaid dutifully poured sashtan a large shooki rum which lasted about 10 seconds and another one was poured. sashtan had no intention of getting totally plasterd but in her experience of fyros men some encounters were best had with a bit of shooki courage inside her.

sastan began to survey the bar as the other lonely men and women of atys entered also hoping to find a date. sashtan picked out a few familiur faces from the crowd and went to sit down so that, in her mind, the ordeal could begin.

maybe it was the shooki rum, which by this point was flowing rather fast, but sashtan began to relax and she found many of the men to be rather pleasant. some of them comented on the lovely dress she was wearing that had taken her all day to get crafted and sashtan managed to repay those complements.

the evening was rounded up with music more rum and dancing. much merryment was had by all.

sashtan awoke 'late' the next day and decided it wasnt' a day for working on her daggers skill. her head hurt enough as it was without being knocked about by kinchers. and the room was already spinning so healing was out of the question. after a light breakfast sashtan tried to remeber the antics of the previous night and found a scrap of paper with random scribbles all over (she presumed it had once been intended as a score sheet). after tryign to decipher the scores all that sashtan could make out was a picture of a cat and the words 'i love you guyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz' so sashtan just decided to send the whole lot to the matchmaker. After grabbing her pick from the shelf and snapping open her teleport ticket sashtan went to dig.

____________________________

after a rather unsucessfull dig sashtan returned home to find a note from the matchmaker waiting in her post box. some how her scores had been deciphered and she ahd been paired up with spartan. sashtan struggled to rememebr a fyros male in a rather interestging collection of heavy armour. the note also described a time and place for the follow up date

the day of the date finally came. sashtan had been busy all day holdign back the kitins in the void but she had still found time to pick out a dress and freshen up before arriving at the location for the date. weather had turned alot colder since the evening in pyr and ther was a white carpet of snow covering the area tothe west of min cho. while sashtan waited she took delight in throwing snowballs at the mektoubs near the water. after about half an hour sashtan started to worry that her date was not going to show. an hour later she threw her last snow ball and returned dissheartened to her home in pyr.

After long hours of digging I got a message from our guild elders - some young homins needed escort into Pyr from Zora. Speed dating and matchmaking were mentioned, but as a well known sucker for cross region trips I volunteered. So I put my digging and crafting gear on my trusty mek and made ready for a nice journey.

All went pretty easily before the ramp of doom and even the welcoming committee there including Mr Fylish didn't give problems. Arrival in Fyros and rest of the journey to the Pyr was mostly showing the wonders of desert to the youngsters from the jungle who never had seen my land of origin.

After arriving to Pyr and our little traveling troupe vanishing who to the bar, who to the bath or wherever a new message arrived. A new set of people were at Zora and needing a safe escort to the desert lands. - Did I mention the word "sucker" by the way? This time the ramp was almost a nasty end to the journey and some pretty heavy defensive action got us through.

Upon arriving into Pyr the weariness from hard work set upon me, so I went directly to the bar and thought about ordering something to refresh myself. Even firewine in my then condition after a hard workday and two exhausting trips proved to be fatal. On the matchmaking itself I remeber only small snatches of conversation - one of them happened to ring in my head when I awoke and realized the all of it was over and people were walking one by one out of the door. As I was wondering about the condition of a friend - she seemed to have found a match from a guard - somebody approached me and chided a bit about my "drowsy" condition during the event - and her voice was just exactly the same with the person who said the words still ringing in my head.

So in a fit of well one can't lose if one can't gain either gave a hastily scribbled note to the matchmaker. Oddly enough next day I got mail from her telling me that a date has been arranged, especially considering how that glass of firewine did affect me.

----

Night of the date, about a week later.

I ended my chores early and spent the rest of the evening sitting at the village green of Zora. As the place where the dating was set was for a good distance away started my travel there early - one will ever know what can happen when traveling through the lands alone. This time the journey itself was pretty uneventful so I had the time to enjoy the trekking and scenery. How beautiful Atys can be in it's best...

When I arrived into the place the date was arranged I found a hastily scribbled note - prearranged date and time had been a bit awkward from her. So all there was to do was trying to contact her for a new date, in case she still wanted to meet me.

(OOC) The event itself seemed to be fairly fun in all accounts, but "real life (tm)" did make participating more in person a bit hard for myself.

Just some comments on the arrangements ingame mail can be bit hard to remember to read now and then, maybe a personal tell from matchmaker could have been a better alternative. In addition in reality the place my date was set was at that moment inaccessible to my date so some kind of checking the details with the homins in question could've been an worthwhile thing to do.
