As an American player, I have never felt an anti-American vibe in my nine months or so here. I have played with many players from Russia to Australia and China. My only complaint is that the devs launched the outposts in the middle of the NA workday. I thought that could have been better done. And it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if, as I originally thought, these outposts would be exchanged frequently and lightly, with fun for all. However now, we reach a month of outposts and I've seen only one real conquest (or possibly three if the Zorai ones were not agreements). So, my unhappiness with the inequality of outpost ownership grows.

I think there are inevitable misunderstandings in a 24 hour game. A player in one timezone may complain that things are too easy for his team of nine, while in another timezone the solo player who can't find any teammates might say they are too hard. People in different timezones may not know each other. For instance, when I tried to run an election for Tryker generals, some Euro Trykers had never heard of Gywidion, although in my timezone, he looked like the most prominent Tryker guildleader with perhaps the largest guild there. They simply didn't play at the same time. So things that look very fair in one timezone may look quite unfair in another timezone.

sorry but i have to laugh at this thread, I have never in around a year seen or heard anything remotely anti american. Sure people use the forums to complain or stir trouble, but i think just about everyone on atys likes and respects eachother. There may be silly tiffs here and there, but i doubt anyone hates americans(unless that wierd guy with the long beard runnin around bombing the stables is Osama) :p

And how do you know that this was because you were american and not for some other reason?

I believe DT is disliked equally amongst the homins of Atys, regardless their origins...

OoC: Like others have said, I have never had an issue with US/EE etc IG. Even with my IG personality... Some of my best friends and biggest adversaries are foreigners (not Texans) and other than timezones there is not "race" line.

Maybe the times you play are not suited typically for US natives... and for whatever reason you feel slighted. If NOT being chatted with is your basis for claiming this hatred it's pretty thin. I ignore people all the time unless there is a question I can help with. I (like many) are not IG to chat... but I always have a few minutes to help if I can. Usually it's in a /tell as I see too much mindless ramblings going on in around and region already.

I am not sure what you were looking for or expecting... but my IG attitude as bad as it is has never got any negative response based on my being US based... You may be taking some things differently than intended... one thing is for sure, we have different senses of humor (Benny Hill) :P /OoC

Who cares what other think of you... you are a free homin. Free to see the light and ways of the Karavan and serve the Goddess Jena if you so choose.

There are Americans in every guild almost. Mine included. Naturally they are our mates as much as Europeans Australians or anyone else (myself Russian :)

Maybe what you felt was not because you were american but for some other reason? Maybe you just paranoid a tiny bit?

But leaving the game just like that becasue someone told you something in chat is a bit childish Imho.

Try WOW for a change - now there's a really friendly community...

OK I'm going to move this back to the main boards as it's not really about role playing. Just to add my two cent's worth, from the CS and CM team's point of view we haven't had to deal with anti-americanism, or anti-any nation for that matter. There is every possibility that you could have come across the wrong people in game (every game has them) or were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. We certainly wouldn't want everyone in game tarred with the same brush and classed as "anti-american". Anyway, enjoy whichever game you choose to dedicate your time to next and maybe we'll see you back here one day.

Pamela, having talked to you I'm surprised that you thought the problems were anti-american. I offered to try to help you. I didn't know you were an american, and really didn't care if you were.

I tried to help. I'm sorry you feel this way and have decided to go.
